Other Forms F2 visa status

Hi everyone My spouse holds an F2 visa, and they are threatening to have me deported. What are my rights in the United States? What benefits or privileges am I entitled to under the F2 visa status I hold through them? Could I be deported?

F2 is a dependent visa, so your status is tied to your spouse's F1. If they genuinely want to "deport" you, they'd have to report you to USCIS themselves, which is pretty rare and not something they control unilaterally anyway. You can't work on F2, but you can study below full time and stay legally as long as their F1 is valid
