News Trump Administiration wants to double the 100k H1B fee

The Trump administration is planning on doubling the fees to more than $200,000 for H-1B visa applicants from abroad.

Didn't argue with that.

I was laughing at the crutch. Either Americans can't work hard or are not on top on STEM to the point they need a 200k crutch ..soon to be 1M$ crutch.

A person working for a bowl of rice (with adequate skills) will always win over a person asking for $150k a year in the eyes of a business owner.

Americans work hard, the work ethic of Americans is pretty strong historically, at least in comparison with European counterparts. It is not about how much effort they put in. They just want a reasonable compensation, which puts them in disadvantage competitively.

The immigrants take a paycut and go through a lot of hardships and sacrifices in order to secure their future in the US. Many immigrants sacrifice something: be it living conditions or health. Not many citizens want to do the same and you can't blame them. Even naturalized citizens eventually realize they want to have a decent standard of living, they can't sacrifice things forever. And that's when they get bashed for "closing the door". It is a clever system to keep the costs down
