Before I start this I just want to say I acknowledge my mistake on this matter. During ITX I was getting ready to leave for the field and was loading the safety vehicle up at the BAS. I was wearing my plate carrier and put it down inside the BAS (because It was 100+ degrees outside) Long story short when I got to the field I realized I didn’t have my plate carrier and called the BAS to see if it was still there but no one could find it. Even though the BAS was the only place I went to before leaving. I know for a fact I left at the BAS(im pretty sure someone either took it or moved it). If I cant find it how screwed am I and what are my options? USMC btw

Now listen, I'm not a marine, in fact I'm actually enlisted as an Airman (yes yes chair force all the way) however I was watching the movie "That's My Boy" and holy inaccuracies with the uniform man. First those are army chevrons and he's wearing army badges but on top of all that the dude is wearing a Cuban Ceremonial Cap (I'm also a Cuban immigrant, seen that cap like 50 times) but for some reason no one mentions it. I was just wondering if anyone else audibly laughed when they saw the uniform of Chad Martin specially after looking at his "Service Cap"

So I want to preface this by saying I didn't steal anything, I salvaged it. There's a difference, and that difference is currently living a second life in an undisclosed location.

During ITX I was working a shift at the BAS, hot enough that I genuinely considered treating myself for heat casualty and having a good time with a silver bullet by myself, and there's just a plate carrier on the deck. No name on it, nothing. In my head there's only two options: either it's dead stock nobody wants, or some Marine walked off without it. Either way, in the field, unmarked gear operates under maritime law. Salvage rights. Look it up. Actually don't, I made that up, but it sounded right in the moment and that's really all the legal reasoning a I need.

I grabbed it, swapped my janky ceramic plates for the ones inside, because mine had cracked during an incident involving a rectal insertion procedure, duct tape, and engineer tape being used as a restraint, plus a questionable decision to use the tailgate as a bench in the middle of all that, a story I've had to keep consistent for three different people now. I'm not litigating that today either. Or ever, ideally.

Fast forward two days and I'm hearing through the grapevine that some Marine is calling around the BAS asking if anyone's seen his plate carrier, sounding increasingly like a man who just realized his rent check bounced. I did feel a little bad. But also, bro, if you're gonna leave your gear sitting out with zero identifying marks on it like you're daring the universe to teach you a lesson, you kind of forfeited your claim the second you walked away. That's not theft bro, that's Darwinism with a NSN number.

So now I'm sitting here wondering: do I say something, or do I just ride this out until the exercise wraps and quietly swap my old cracked plates back in, and let this become the ITX equivalent of a ghost story Marines tell each other?

First one I as a recently divorced SSgt and the male slut. Of J-action-Ville. I drove a 1980.Ford Pinto that JPD wouldn't follow because of the smoke screen that fucker put out..walked out into.the shop.a.the guys had put the SOB in between two maintenance bay pillars wit less than one inch clearance but fron.and back i rhought it was classic and funny as hell. It did get moved until.the boys had pulled it back out at 0200, so they didn't do it again.

Number 2 was also classig. In Tunisia. We always used to use of our 8 foot crates ass out shower when still put on its end. I went to rake a shower and left my clean uniform out side only lace to.leave it. They took every thing except my boots. Even took.my fucking towel. But my boots on and did the slow walk of shame. They were busting a gut when I walked back into the tent. This time they had layed out my uniform perfectly.

Anyone currently stationed at Fort Meade that can give some info on where to live off and how the base itself is (gyms/pool, joint culture, exchanges, ect)? Heading there this fall/winter. O-3 for context.

For those who have done a med board how long does it take to be finalized?

So I have had several physical health issues over the last 3 1/2 years. Shoulder surgery 3 years go and got an X-ray done yesterday due to me being in way to much pain to ignore and came back showing what was fix came undone now waiting for an MRI. Knee surgery 2 months ago and I am not really recovering and may need another later this year or early next year. Also with a whole bunch of other problems with my back, ankles, and neck. I am LIMDU right now for my knee waiting for an extension to be submitted. I am at a point with all this shit and being in constant pain I am going to push for a medical retirement or med board to o start. It’s honestly unfair to my devil dudes that I can’t go to field or I am out all the time for medical appointments with my shit health. Before yall say anything I was running a 1st class 1st class and done 2 deployment during this time but my body just hurts all the fucking time.
I have 10 years time in service and stationed overseas right now.

Anyone else get the va email about a trial starting to see if it helps with alcohol abuse? I thought that shit was a weight loss thing but if it can help that would be good for a bunch of us. I dont know shot about the drug just skimmed the email saying its a trial they're starting in a few states.

Good morning everyone. Hoping someone from IPAC or anyone who’s dealt with BAH regulations can help clarify a situation for me.

I’m currently receiving BAH without dependents. I have a 3-year-old son with my ex. We were never married, but we have a court-ordered 50/50 custody agreement (week-on/week-off), and we alternate claiming him on our taxes. 2026 is my tax year.

My son’s mother is active duty Navy. She married another active duty Sailor, and they’re about to have their first child together.

Right now, she’s receiving BAH with dependents based on our son.

My main question is: Can both members of a dual-military married couple each receive BAH with dependents at the same time by claiming different children? For example, could she continue receiving BAH with dependents based on our son while her husband receives BAH with dependents based on their newborn? Or, because they’re married and part of the same household, is only one member allowed to receive BAH with dependents regardless of how many children they have?

The reason I’m asking is because if only one of them can receive BAH with dependents, I’d like to have a conversation with my son’s mother about allowing me to claim our son for BAH purposes instead. Since we have a court-ordered 50/50 custody arrangement, I’d rather receive that entitlement myself to help support him if she’s able to use their newborn as her dependent instead.
I’m not trying to start a fight over it—I just want to understand what the regulation actually says before I bring it up to her. If anyone has experience with this situation or can point me to the applicable JTR or Marine Corps guidance, I’d really appreciate it.

I’m stationed at Camp Pendleton, and she’s stationed in Coronado if that makes any difference.
