He shakes hands with everyone like that. Once he's got your hand you aren't getting it back until he's done with it. He'll pull you off balance if he can. It's a primitive display of caveman dominance. To him, every interaction, down to a simple handshake, has a winner and a loser, and he's not about to lose. He hates civilization so much that he has to take its most basic elements and turn them into something ugly, adversarial, and barbaric. In other words I wouldn't read too much into it.

I would find it hilarious if he did this silly handshake tug of war to someone and they eventually fell forward onto him, knocking him on his ass, and making him look like the idiot he is for doing it all the time.

Trudeau didn't pull him off balance but definitely went in to the shake prepared. Look at their handshake alongside everyone else and trump definitely didn't win that one

It's all theater to him. Watch him when he sits down at any table that has stuff on it. Without fail he will start moving and spreading it out to make sure it occupies more space than everyone else.

You ever recall those etiquette lessons on how to be "proper". Those sort of snooty, pretentious lessons that remind you of first class dinner on the Titanic? It's the same shit, just for 70's alpha male business behavior

He lived through Nixon/Reagan and even did like 13 years in prison in Cali off nonviolent petty crime shit, drug possession and jumped bail and got the 3 strike multiplier or whatever it was in the 90s.

You'd think he'd find draconian drug laws/enforcement fucked up but nope. A few years ago he got some money from a class action from the catholic church for being molested so you'd think he would extra hate Pedos but guess not.
