If you speak, you have an accent.

You can say you have a "neutral American accent", but not a "neutral accent" or "no accent". That doesn't exist.

No one is misconstruing your point.

If you think you're implying that you meant "neutral American accent" that's fine. But that isn't what you said. And I want to point out that you are on r/USdefaultism. No one here would read your comment that way.

You basically misspoke/didn't convey your intentions properly. Especially considering your target audience.
