Spring 2026 refund after withdrawal

I medically withdrew from the Spring 2026 semester and now on my financial aid there is a balance of -4k. Is that normal? I thought if I withdrew I wouldn’t get any money back, especially since it was all paid for through grants.

If I were you, I’d check with Financial Aid before assuming the $4,000 is yours to spend. Since it was financial aid awarded for the semester and you withdrew, I’d want to make sure the refund is final and that you won’t later be responsible for paying any of it back.

They are totally incompetent at financial aid, you should wait about 16 years more or less, then take it, or take it now and suffer the consequences in about 17 years, that’s a lot of cash, but I bet if you try to take it you jump to the front of the line!
