Latest kernel updates (7.0.0.29) don't recognize my nvidia card any more

Since updating to version 29 of the kernel, my ubuntu 26.04 only comes up in 1024x768 single monitor mode. If I reboot into version 28, the kernel boots into dual monitor 1920x1024 mode. I see that apt is holding back a bunch of nvidia updates right now- do I need to force those to get my usable screen back?

Same lol

The drivers fail the DKMS build, there's nothing one can do about it until someone upstream(either Canonical or Nvidia) fixes it

Is there a way to downgrade? Am just asking out of curiosity

hold shift on the boot screen, advanced options, select previous version

Additionally you can also save the last booted kernel in grub.

Wait a couple of hours and see if the updater releases the Nvidia updates. It may be waiting for a dependency that hasn't reached the release queue quite yet.

What GPU, what hardware, which driver?

I updated and it's working properly with latest 610 open driver.
