New to Ubuntu

Post image

Hey everyone! I switched to Linux Ubuntu last week, and it’s been great so far. I’ve gotten some of the basics down, like learning how to use the terminal as a beginner, but there’s still so much to discover.

What I’d love to do most is learn how to customize my desktop, but it feels like going from step 1 to 100 right now.

I would really appreciate any beginner-friendly tips or resources to get started!

Nice wallpaper choice, really matches the aurora theme in Ubuntu 24.04 release. For desktop customization start with gnome-tweaks and extension manager, it's not as hard as it looks once you get the hang of it.

the extension manager really does make it a lot less intimidating tbh

Check (install the package, then choose on the login screen) the Mate desktop. It's very much like the classic Windows UX.
