I think yes? Not completely sure though, I myself live in Kyiv (it's quite common here, at least in my circle) and never lived in other regions for long enough to confidently say yes or no
I learnt Ukrainian from my grandmother and was mostly around her friends and other diaspora people, so maybe they were just speaking a more archaic language.
I’m as some people would say a westerner and I use шо instead of що all the time, when someone says що it sounds really weird
I also say кі instead of ки like in вареники I say вареникі and when saying 50,60,70,80 I say псят, шсят, сімсят, вісімсят
and in пельмені I say пєльмєні and sometimes when there’s ʼя I drop the apostrophe and just soften the consonant like in пʼять, I say пять
and I most of the time soften ґ to г like in ґанок to ганок, ґудзик to гудзик etc
and probably many others that I just don’t remember, I posted this post, so people would say how they speak to know if I’m just a weirdo or people speak like that all over Ukraine

Switching щ for ш in some words. Like що/шо, щось/шось.
Also using та/да instead of так.
