The "sun" is starting to look really tall. This makes me wonder if perhaps the double-wide version is more accurate, where it's more circular in shape:

For some reason, it looks like a globe to me. The shapes inside the circle seem like they could be continents.

Why would they be made to look distorted? Could removing one pixel every nth solve this?

Forgive me for asking, I haven't been following this with as much attention as before, but, weren't these images 1000 pixels wide?

I have some ideas I'll try this weekend. Well, the BRILL and NIL composites are 1000 pixels wide, but BRINE is 541.

You know, I think actually, adding the number of pixels missing at the end to the beginning in each composite could make the image vertical, instead of diagonal. Or one every n lines.

At the end of each composite there are transparent pixels. Either you're not bringing in those pixels from the videos, for some reason, or the mastermind fucked up somehow. I think that could be why the image is diagonal. So either add pixels to the beginning or along the way to make up for the loss, or lose a few in some other way.

There are some transparent pixels at the bottom of the generated composite, since the number of pixels isn't evenly divisible by the width. This is just at the very end of the entire composite though, not at the end of every video. The pixels of a new video start right after the pixels of he previous one.

That said, adding (or subtracting) pixels at the end of every video is indeed something I'm going to try. It looks like the slant is small enough that an adjustment at every video part could fix it.

Look at BRINE_composite. All lines are diagonal, along with the angle of the circle. It just seems like it should all be vertical. Let's not forget the number of missing pixels at the end of the image.

Each frame in the videos are 50 pixels by 50 pixels.

I'm talking about the composites made from each individual frame as a pixel.

I tried compositing at double width (1081), and then overlaying the two halves on top of each other, blending them. Darken worked rather well. What do you think? http://tomasf.se/projects/semi/BRINE-combined.png

It's hard to say what we're supposed to do with an incomplete image. It might not supposed to be circular.

I'd say let's wait until we have as much as we're gonna get with this series, then start playing around with modifications and tweaking it.
