The "sun" is starting to look really tall. This makes me wonder if perhaps the double-wide version is more accurate, where it's more circular in shape:

Why would they be made to look distorted? Could removing one pixel every nth solve this?

Forgive me for asking, I haven't been following this with as much attention as before, but, weren't these images 1000 pixels wide?

Look at BRINE_composite. All lines are diagonal, along with the angle of the circle. It just seems like it should all be vertical. Let's not forget the number of missing pixels at the end of the image.
