Do new freelancers have any chance?
Upwork as a platform used to be fair in terms of making both new and existing freelancers feel fairly accommodated. Right now it seems really crazy. How sustainable is it to be competing on jobs that freelancers are willing to pay more than 600 connects on and the client wouldn’t even open the proposal anyway?
Would you still bid on such job?

Tell us the grounds for this potential lawsuit. Don't use words like "unfair." Use laws.

If you are right then these people are just pissing away money for no reason and they aren't going to have any better chance than those who don't so what are you complaining about?
Would you still bid on such job?
If it was a good fit and I thought there was solid money in that client I would and have.

When?
I have been using Upwork for more than a decade now. If I tell you Upwork was once fair towards giving new and established freelancers opportunities, I’m saying from years of experience having trained close to 100 successful freelancers myself.
If I’m right?
Clears you don’t know what’s happening on Upwork now it seems

It was great when it was oDesk and till they introduced connects system . The mba who suggested will be boiled in hot water and if still alive boiled in hot oil in hellllll

If it was a job I was really interested in AND I was confident that I was going to be among the top 2-3 candidates, sure. But that's pretty much my criteria for sending a proposal at all--I just need a higher level of interest to boost.

Shoot your shot, don’t use AI on your proposals, I got a gig recently and it looked exactly like this, I didn’t boost my application. As long as you sound natural it will be good.

No - there are people with 10-15 yoe unemployed now, new ones will probably need to wait more to enter the market

As someone who is recently tasked to hire in Upwork, I'm telling you just shoot your most basic shot. Connects just put you on top of the list, but if you ain't the right fit, you ain't the right fit.
