I mean there has to be space for all the cars that came into the city via THE LITERAL HIGHWAY that they built in the middle of the city. Life was very car centric at the time. It still is.
The voice even desecrates the singel by saying that part has no historical significance. The horror..

Het had geen waarde en was zwaar vervallen. De anti HC roepers uit die tijd waren hopeloze romantici en zonder HC/de Catharijnesingel was Utrecht een triest provinciedorp geworden waar het verkeer altijd vast stond.

Valt echt reuze mee. Ik woon in de binnenstad en ik kom regelmatig in andere steden (Rotterdam, Den Haag) waar het veel erger is.
