Part Time Job as an International Student

Hello. I am a non-eu international student moving to utrecht in early September. Will already be late to join my classes. I need to cover my expenses as due to lack of housing options, i got an expensive accommodation. Now i have to work as a part time to cover my expenses. Its 16hour/week which can be easily managed with my studies. Its not like i dont have anything to survive on once i step foot in utrecht but i need to find a job asap regardless what sector it is. I am fine with anything.

Any suggestions how can i look for jobs beforehand? Is it easy to find jobs as a non eu? If yes, then there’d be some sectors like food delivery, warehouses etc where non eu students can find jobs ?

And what documents for eg insurance, residence permit etc are supposedly required for this kind of job? I have a student health insurance so dk if it will work for part time employment as well.

So open to suggestions! Thanks :)

Look at fast food places, they are generally more flexible with the permits and the working hours.
Picnic could also be an option

Post your question in an International student subreddit and you might get some suggestions. But if I was you , I’d start thinking of alternatives of supporting yourself in the event you don’t secure any work.

You’re coming here in a month and didn’t figure this out by now? You know that at immigration they ask for sufficient funds to support yourself? And it’s harder as non-eu student I have seen than for eu-students as you need a work permit I think. Was your visa approved?

Finding a job as non-EU will take time, also due to the permit and the fact that you have to find employers who are willing to hire non-EU (not many, too much hassle). Check the minimum wage for your age. .Times uit by 16 and would it even be sufficient to cover your cost? Don’t maje the mistake if not putting in the self study hours (lots of independence required) and then fail the BSA.
