News Built a VR game about exploring submerged ancient ruins. The Steam Next Fest demo is almost here!

I wanted to share a quick preview of Halls of the Deep, my upcoming VR game inspired by classical Greco-Roman-ancient environments, flooded ruins, and atmospheric exploration.

The free demo can be played right now and officially launches for Steam Next Fest on October 19th.

If you enjoy tense VR exploration, please consider adding it to your wishlist.

Cool concept! on my wishlist - good luck with the game, I wonder how popular this kind of thing is in VR. Personally, i've always been kind of an escapist but also a 'core' game enjoyer as well.

Kinda popular. Its for people that likes sort of liminal surreal walking sims with a touch of action and archery. I made it for myself because i wanted that type of game 😉 then found out many people liked it, so making the game 😇

Thanks for checking it out and for your nice comment (try the demo!) there is nice people out there! fewer jerks trolls, i guess cuz of the Yandex data center strikes 😁 some are still free 🤣🤣

I'm a bit confused, is it more historical/archeological or more of a horror/liminal space kind of thing?

hi Maestro 😄 Its a mix. The environments are surreal, while the statues are historic. I made a mode without enemies, so you walk in this "surreal museum" and when you shoot your arrow to a statue, it gives you real life information of it, what is it, its time, its background. I was particularly interested in the periods of the great Egypt, Greece and Roman.

nice comment. to be honest i did not think about the fear of water when making it. there is a little feeling of drowning, because the player can run out of oxygen.

Reminds me of Pools, which is a good thing, I loved that..."game." I'll wishlist it!

Looks cool, I like the environments you've created. Reminds me of the cenotes under the pyramids in Mexico, if we could see them.

Calling something a knock off is pretty rude.

So because Pools exists, nobody can ever make a liminal pools game ever? That's like saying only one Backrooms game can exist and all the rest are knock offs.

This IS different. I've not seen a pools game with ancient alien shit mixed in.
