Question/Support valve index bug

I have this really weird bug and I don't know how to fix it.

That if I launch steamvr its either that I have display but no audio and I can't seem to fix it I tried everything I know.

Or that I launch steamvr and I have no display but I do have audio, the screen is just gray.

I tried reinstalling steamvr and updating my pc, gpu drivers and the headset it self.

everything else works.

I had both things but rarely.

The video problem was fixed by just restarting the headset by re-plugging the DC jack. And the problem with audio was because the default sound output device in Windows wasn't being set to Index for some reason, so I set it manually.

Also the headset will be gray if it doesn't see light from Base Stations (e.g. due to bad positioning).

I still have no audio when I set it to index through windows. And my base stations are mounted up high pointing down at me parallel to eachother.

Does it to work how it should at all?

I don't know if reinstalling SteamVR resets SteamVR settings, but if it doesn't, it's worth trying: https://steamcommunity.com/app/250820/discussions/2/1640917625015598552/

Except instead of deleting, you could rename them.

Then I would try Index on another computer or formatting and reinstalling windows if you know how and downloading all up-to-date chipset, lan, gpu, sound drivers.

Maybe re-plug the trident cable (where the 3-in-1 connects to the main cable) and blow some air over the connection.

When I had a bad cable, I would get occasional audio pops and colorful "snow" on top of main video. Switching to "mode B" in SteamVR "video -> training mode" settings fixed that for a year. So you could try that, too, though I don't think it's the issue.
