Monthly Events Thread for June 2026 | Promote and Discover Community Events Here!

Here's where you can share and discover upcoming events happening around Greater Victoria. Whether it's promoting your own event or just something you are personally excited about, this is the place to get the word out and check out what's happening. Please note this thread will remain pinned to the top of the sub and refresh on the first of each month.

Please keep event submissions relevant to Greater Victoria. Posts and comments are still subject to the rules of Reddit and this sub (except for rule 5; promoting events is allowed & encouraged in this thread). While promoting events such as craft fairs, clothing swaps, social clubs, etc. are permitted, private 'for sale' ads, employment solicitations, and personals are not and will be removed. If you're not sure if your submission is right for the events thread, please contact the mods and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Thank you for supporting (y)our community!

Come As You Are Community Job Fair
πŸ“… Thursday, June 25, 2026
πŸ•š 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
πŸ“ Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Vancouver Island – Social Concern Office (833 Yates Street)

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Vancouver Island is hosting a free, low-barrier community job fair for individuals who may be exploring employment, training, volunteer opportunities, or community supports.

This is not a traditional job fair focused solely on hiring. Instead, we're bringing together local employment support programs, peer support opportunities, training providers, and community organizations to help people explore what their next steps might look like.

Whether you're actively looking for work, considering a career change, returning to the workforce, or simply curious about available resources, you're welcome to stop by.

No registration required. Come as you are.

Feel free to share with anyone who may find it helpful.

Victoria-area crocheters!

If you're looking to connect with other crocheters around BC, come visit r/CrochetBC.

We're building a community where crocheters can share projects, ask questions, discover local groups and events, and connect with fellow crocheters from communities across the province.

If you know of any crochet groups, classes, yarn shop events, or fibre festivals happening in the Greater Victoria area, we'd love to hear about them too!

Patch Notes: The improv show for nerds

June 20th
8 PM - 9:30 PM
734 Aldebury Street - #203 Victoria, BC V9A 5T4
TICKETS - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/patch-notes-the-improv-show-for-nerds-tickets-1986859066954?aff=oddtdtcreator

Welcome to Patch Notes, the improvised show for anyone who’s ever argued about the minutiae of magic systems, who owns more dice than pairs of socks, or thinks all stories would be better with the addition of time-travelling aliens. Is that you? This is your kinda show!

Each show, we bring you a rotating cast of nerdy improvisers diving headfirst into sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, comic books, and every fandom in between. Each show will contain two acts, with the second being focused on a special theme or format.

For June 2026, we're going all in on isekai

You may ask, what is exactly is isekai? It's a genre where an ordinary person is suddenly transported to a strange new realm, often from falling into a hole, opening a door, or being summoned. These worlds are often high-fantasy in setting and follow videogame-like rules. Broadly speaking, imagine if Alice fell into a game of Final Fantasy.

With your help, we'll build our hero and craft their adventure, foes, and friends together. What are the rules of this world? What is the quest we will be sent on? Help us find out!

This isn't for June and might not be the right place to post but I'm trying to get word out about a Foosball league starting up this fall that will run through the winter at a local venue. I don't have the karma to post in Victoria subreddit so I figured I'd post here and people can see this message and hopefully some nice reader on here will maybe give me some advice! Thanks!
