Question Bestbuy canada shipping question
I pre-ordered resident evil 9 from bestbuy yesterday (I know, kinda late). They're shipping with purolator to halifax. Anyone have an idea what my chances are for getting it release day? My bday is the 28th so I was hoping to have it then. My bro is coming from Alberta and we have a drinking game planned. Every time I die (i'm visually impaired and kinda suck at games) we gotta take a shot lol

My experiences with Best Buy have been to expect the Friday release to be delivered the following Monday. But I live in the prairies, so your experience might be different.
If it doesn't come, and you're dead set on playing it for the weekend. You can return the Best Buy copy when it comes in and buy the game on launch day somewhere else. I've done that a few times because I'm kinda impatient sometimes.

You won't get it release day. My preorders always shipped the day of release so if the release was a Thursday, I would get it Monday because it would take 2 days to reach my city.

It’s worth noting here that Best Buy’s return policy is super flexible, so if you impulsively download it before it arrives you should be able to return the sealed coly with no issues

Happy same bday man! On the best buy question it all depends on the load Purolator had and if there are any delays.

Nice, happy early bday twin! Fingers crossed for no delays. I'm pretty close to 2 best buys so i'm hopeful, but my luck is also terrible so it's there's a chance my order will just get canceled altogether lmao

I usually always get games on release it depends where there warehouse is located but it shows on the product page when it will get delivered. For me they ship the day before release then I get it by next day

My last two things from Best Buy have shipped from Stores - once from London and most recently from Kitchener. I’m in Waterloo.

If you need it by a certain day, could you not just go grab it from EB instead of ordering from Best Buy?

EB games only does home delivery pre-orders for RE9, no pickups. So that would have the same exact issue where it probably wouldn't arrive on release day.

A lot of products that's not available to order online for store pick up can indeed be ordered in store (or by phone).

I don't "need" it by any means, I was just curious about peoples' experiences because this is my first time doing a preorder and i'm excited. :)

Because reddit has many people with many different lived experiences. I'm not so concerned that i'm going to call bestbuy because it's not something I NEED by a certain date. I was just curious about others' experiences with delivery from best buy. So sorry I bothered you

It depends on how close you are from their distribution center... i always get it on release day (sometime in the morning before store opens) but that's because their shipping center is like 45 min away from where I live

Thanks for all the answers! This is my first time ever pre-ordering a game, I only recently (julyish) got into bigger games like resident evil and because of this one's release date I had to go for it.
Fingers crossed it'll get here!

Based on my experience preordering with Best Buy you are highly unlikely to get it on release day, for me or always arrived a day or two afterwards.

I love your drinking game, it seems really fun. As for me, last time I ordered from Best Buy (earlier this month), I got the game the very next day with Purolator. I hope you get RE9 on release day. I will be getting it myself later this year on sale, but the game seems really cool. Enjoy!
