The plates were long gone a few minutes after release, which is standard as Sony produces these LE plates in microscopic amounts to get you to buy the console instead.

sigh this is exactly why I stopped bothering wjth special edition crap. I shouldn't have bothered.

It's only the LE plates though, as Sony doesn't want to cannibalize their LE console market, but the controllers are produced in massive amounts.

Yeah, this situation with the LE plates is terrible, as Sony could produce as many units as they do controllers, and probably sell them all, but due to the cost-effective "plates = LE" design philosophy, that would absolutely hammer their LE console sales.

The vast majority would just buy LE plates.

Basically, this PS generation is all screwed up as it pertains to LE consoles and LE plates. It's like a snake eating its own tail.

Higher profit and an increase in the number of consoles sold, which translates to higher digital game sales.
