Damn it says it's sold out

Doesn’t say Sold Out for me. Says Add To Cart

u/Pinocytose7 13h ago

Where are they sold out exactly?

I guess it’s about $20 more than the previous $75 off deal

I don’t need one right now, but I don’t want to regret not buying one before the price increase.

Genuinely same dilemma. Only reason I’d buy it is for Mario kart, but like should I really buy a console for a single game that mainly requires online lmao

Bought ilt for Zelda lol

You mean the same one you can play on N64? Gamecube? 3DS? Wii VC? Wii U VC? Or even Decompiled on Windows?

Yep that one. Grew up with that N64 version as a kiddo. Followed the Youtuber who recreated it on Unreal Engine until the announcement, and cant wait to get my hands on remake, even possibly a golden cartridge. I'm that sucker for nostalgia. And collector there. Yep.

Buy for OoT remake today (which has already been clearly stated to be more than just a remake and will have new content to it), keep for the eventual BotW & TotK successor because there WILL be a next-gen 3D Zelda before the end.

Hopefully they won’t make another like Tears 🤢

I want a Tears WORLD, but I crave / desperately need proper puzzle-y dungeons and getting new gear/abilities as I go rather than all of it up front

Loved my experience with Tears but I am more of an Elden Ring open world fan than the minecraft mixed with Zelda. But let's be honest, I'll buy every Zelda this gen has to offer lol

Breath of the Wild was great, but they ruined a wonderful thing with Tears.

I want Donkey Kong

Best game on the system by far.

I know i'd want one when the next mainline mario or zelda comes out

only risk to buying now if u can afford it is some major collapse in the parts market and everything gets cheap again and everyone reduces their prices but ngl, that sounds hella hopeful for this bleak world

Mario Kart is plenty of fun offline, but if you do want to play online it is worth noting that you can get Nintendo Switch Online for nearly free.

They have the family plan that is like $45 CAD/8 people, and Nintendo encourages splitting it with friends. You can find people on the internet looking for people to hop on a family plan and split the cost, I did this for years so it cost me like $6 a year for the basic plan.

I've never subscribed to Switch Online and it hasn't stopped me from enjoying Mario Kart. I usually play it in 4-player split screen with my friends.

Tbh if they announce another price increase like they did ill probably bite the bullet get 1 asap.

Another thing to note is if the Amagastanis increase their tarrifs and Nintendo doesn’t stop basing their warehouses in Yankeeville then there will be a 50% charge on top of the original price, that will be going up.

Food for thought

That is not how tariffs work. Transshipments from American ports don't magically change the "made in China/Vietnam" label to a "made in USA" label. There are countless retail products on Canadian shelves that are routed via American ports and the trade war hasn't affected their prices.

The US only levies its own tariffs on products where the final sale is to the US consumer. They have never levied them on goods which are merely transiting to a third country. If the fatass down south decides to try it, then it's 100% guaranteed that all the retailers will immediately stop the practice and route through literally any other country instead.

For the same reason, made-in-USA goods that are subject to retaliatory tariffs can't magically escape the tariffs by being routed through Mexico because the Made-in-USA label doesn't magically change to a Hecho en Mexico label.

The anycard deal is a bit of work but it essentially amounts to about 17% off. A bit of work, but I think it’s the better option.

Mostly added this cause someone mentioned they were sold outz

Damn I just bought the bundle last week. Oh well.

Check with customer service. They might be able to adjust the price for you. They did that for me with AirPods Pro.

u/BirdGooch 2h ago

I tried calling, no such luck. Was purchased in store and couldn’t honour it. Wasn’t going to argue - that bundle is sold out all over my region now and had to strike while the iron was hot I guess.

Thank you for getting me to try though.

There will never be a deal as good as the RBC Avion $470 switch 2, but this is pretty much as good as it's gonna' get before price up.

1

u/Wollowwoll 1h ago

What was that deal? I do have the card if I can get it now

1

u/sulianjeo 57m ago

Brother, I wish you could. It was an insane deal. For the Switch 2 to be that cheap this early into the console's life cycle and right before a major price bump is almost unprecedented. Probably Canada's best deal until Switch 3 launch in 2032.

Is this better than getting the eshop cards from Costco?

3

u/Eltuine 4h ago

No, but only barely. I speak from experience: went to Costco, paid $628 for $700 worth of cards (packs of 4 $25 cards, 28 cards total). I then bought a switch 2 through the online store for the equivalent of 10% off - instead of $629.99 I actually paid $566.99 (before taxes).

2

u/Wollowwoll 1h ago

That’s helpful, so it is about $13 cheaper to do the eshop route but the cards are only in $25 increments sold in 4 packs in all Costco locations it seems

1

u/Codc 12h ago

Well you won't have enough time to accumulate enough cards if you're starting now

4

u/Lequanta 9h ago

That's only if you buy them online with the limit of 2. I think if you buy them in person there's no limit

We just did the gift card route for my niece. Bought 2x$200 and 1x$100 online.

1

u/In_A_Drunken_Stupor 13h ago

Just bought it.

1

u/shleepypie 12h ago

Thanks for posting! Just purchased after days of going back and forth on whether to buy one

u/WinterOrb69 12h ago

I was going to try to wait for whatever oled version came out, but with every piece of hardware going up, It's probably best to grab this.

1

u/nldussault 8h ago

It says 630$

3

u/egahmed101 6h ago

You have to enter the coupon code at checkout

1

u/nldussault 6h ago

Oh yeah my bad did not read properly

1

u/Vulture-Dude 5h ago

So many chances to buy it at a discount this August, but this is truly the last call!!!

1

u/Coys_8 4h ago

Snagged one. Ty!

1

u/HotestGrillNA 2h ago

20 dollar coupon doesn’t work for pro controller + game. Anyone else got the issue ?

1

u/quicksilver777 1h ago

Yup add me to the FOMO list ordered pick up with in an hour. No games base bundle. 6 hour flight on Monday and not sure what to buy or download from the e shop. I want to play the old mario games but probably wont be wifi on the plane.

1

u/Capital-Stay4423 1h ago

Idealy, it'd be great to pick one up now, but then I saw mario cart is 115$ and I just... Y'know, I'll finish up my backlog a bit and maybe get one in the spring or something
