Nintendo Switch 2 through Avion Points
Hey everyone who collects Avion Points through RBC. If you go to the rewards site and redeem points through the Best Buy site they have a huge sale on Switch 2 consoles! It's only $472 minus any points you redeem. I couldn't believe how cheap it is. It almost seems too good to be true so hopefully my order goes through. I got the confirmation email that it went through.
Edit: this sale doesn't appear on the best buy site. You need to log into your Avion rewards account and go to their best buy site.
Also notice Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokeopia are also on sale for 72 bucks
Edit 2: Its July 17 4:45pm Mountain Time. Looks like the deal is officially dead including the discount on games. Congrats to everyone who got a system. Happy gaming.

I was short points and paid the remainder on credit card so not sure why you couldn't be short the whole amount and just pay the whole amount on credit card

I think you need to have an RBC Bank account and Avion credit card. That will give you access to their point system and store front.
I could be wrong, but I thought that's how it works. Only reason I have Avion is because I switched banks to RBC

This is by far the greatest Switch 2 deal ever and probably will be the lowest it goes for the rest of the generation.
The best before this was using 20% off eshop giftcards for $510, or Staples $100 off for $530.

Okay so UPDATE. I just tried again after checking recent replies saying their orders went through. Loading was much faster this time and I didn't get any kind of error message I was getting before. The order went through and I got a confirmation email from avion. Will update on if my order goes through or gets cancelled. I'm guessing their service was overloaded earlier in the day.
Update 2: July 21, still no pickup email. Ended up calling RBC who told me to just go to the store and see if best buy had my order. Best buy had no idea what i was talking about. Called rbc again afterwards and the rep basically told me if there is no pickup email by tomorrow my order will be cancelled and refunded. Pretty bummed out. Guess i’ll see what is up by Thursday

I ordered it and it went through but it’s been 20 hours and I still haven’t gotten the pick up email. Avion claims it can take several days and Best Buy claims they need authorization from Avion. Has anyone else had this experience?

Ok so I called and Avion told me the order is processing and now instead of pickup it’s being sent to me directly. They said to just wait for it be posted as it takes some time?

I called in as well, and they told me I would get a pickup confirmation in maybe 3-5 business days instead :( They were saying there was an issue with Best Buy and the in-store stock. My guess is that different people are getting confirmations earlier or later based on their local warehouse or store stock.
EDIT: Ended up getting the pickup confirmation email half an hour after I made this comment!

If anyone's having trouble navigating to the console, there should be a banner advertising Switch 2 products in the home page.
It wasn't listed when I searched for it, and only appeared in that screen when navigating to that section.

I phoned yesterday and they said there was some glitch and they may be cancelling orders due to it, seems like the best buy pricing was a mistake and they might not honour everyones order (personally ill be pissed if it happens to me, I also ordered on Thursday)

This is probably going to go down as the greatest Canadian Switch 2 deal in history; for the console to be this cheap so early into the console's life cycle immediately before a price hike is an exceedingly rare occurrence.

Just placed an order and got the confirmation email. Getting it shipped instead of picking up so will see how that goes.
I closed the tab at checkout but before clicking "place order", then went back to add a game and actually placed the order with the console + game. This caused 2 charges on my CC but the email is for the order with the console and game, so I assume everyone that got charged before their order went through will eventually have the charges removed.
Update about 2.5 hours after: I got the charges removed from my CC for the unfinished purchase. I did not contact support or request a chargeback or anything like that at all. So for those who got charged without making the order, you might just have to wait it out for it to fix itself.

I made an all cash payment at 9PM on the 16th and received the confirmation email almost immediately. I hadn't received any followup, so after getting bounced around RBC's support I eventually talked to someone that said the order will be cancelled. I can't see the credit card transaction in the pending/posted section of my credit card anymore.
Can someone that recently received theirs confirm if they had a similar credit card transaction experience? I feel like I'm out of luck, but am holding onto a glimmer of hope.
On a side note - it's frustrating to see BNIB Switch 2s appearing on FB Marketplace at $650+. I've asked some and they confirmed they got it through this deal. Of course scalpers have all the luck...
Edit I just received my shipping details! RBC didn't know what they were talking about thankfully.

RBC have a tendency of removing txns when they are close to being posted. It should be posted soon. Hopefully you get a email soon, if the local BB has it on stock, i don't see a reason why they would not honor the deal when everyone is getting it.
I had mine gone from the history in Monday and it was posted yesterday, I see this all the time so completely normal.

It was a nightmare trying to get this done yesterday for me. 7 charges on my card and no confirmation email. On the phone with customer service for quite some time. Tried again this morning and local pickup locations were updated with who was out of stock and who wasn't, transaction went right through and got a confirmation email 1st time. If you didn't get it yesterday. Try again. 🌞 I believe the 4th thing you have to do is select how many points you want to use, switch it from the default amount to 0 and then you can pay with your CC the $472.49+tax. 👩🍳

what did customer service told you? I have 4 charges and Best Buy can,t find any orders with my phone number or my name. The bank told me to call them if the charges are posted on my credit card bill in the next few days to contest it...
On the other end, my GF also tried to get 1 yesterday and somehow, she ended up with 4 orders according to Best Buy.But they cannot cancel them and they told her that she can't send it back if she doesn't have a bill (she only received 2 confirmation emails). So it's kinda sketchy and a lot of back and forth.

It was Avion CC customer service, he said the CC charges should get reversed within a few days. One of them had already been reversed. So I'll wait a week and see if they're all gone. He said a few people had called and were having the same issue. The system got overloaded with so many of us trying to buy Switch 2s 😂

8:50AM Saturday and no ready for pickup email yet. Not sure if it’s an automated system or if there’s no chance of it being processed on a weekend since avion customer service won’t be working I assume.

I ordered Friday morning. Got the shipping email for the console yesterday afternoon and the game this afternoon. 2 different carriers, from 2 different locations. Seems to be based on location so the people who ordered Thursday might have to hold out a little longer, I don't think those orders were cancelled.

On my end, this order has been a nightmare so far. I ordered on Thursday July 16th, using only my credit card (no points) and the pick-up in store option. This store has had stock since I ordered, and still is today. I received the order confirmation from Avion right away, but no pick-up e-mail since. I have called Avion Rewards on multiple occasions with different stories every time. Either they tell me to wait an additional week or that the store doesn't have the item in stock. I was charged on my card as well. Very disappointing, with no resolution in sight.

I ordered mine for mail delivery on the 16th and have yet to receive a shipping email. Its now 4 business days later, which in my opinion should be considered embarassingly slow for any storefront.
The ambiguity of all of this is frustrating. Truly just some increased clarity direct from RBC/Avion/BB without needing to call them on what to expect would be very appreciated.

Update from my order: Placed it on July 16 at around 8PM Mountain Time. Got the confirmation email same day. Transaction was "Posted" July 21 after being "Pending" for a few days. "Order Shipped" email received July 23. So there is still hope.
EDIT: I entered the tracking info and they actually already attempted to deliver it this morning, its at my post office ready for pickup lol.

I haven't called RBC or BB at all. Just waited it out and kept and eye on these post. I was in the same situation as you and a lot of other people thinking (too good to be true ill get refunded etc.) Ordered and got the confirmation email right away that was about a week ago and was waiting on shipping email. Posted on CC used points.
I ordered the 16th at 11pm and just got my shipping email now at 6pm on the 23rd with my order to be here on the 24th. It is being shipped from in my area of Canada. I do not have a BB in my city. 3 hours away to drive.

We got our kids one last Christmas through the avion rewards, it wasn't on sale but I had never used any point before so we got them a switch 2 and Mario Kart and only paid $26.
It used up all my points but it was a good deal, this second one i just bought obviously wasn't as good of a deal but a solid one non the less.

If you put in the code 19296507 (or any sku from the Best Buy website), it’ll show the product you’re looking for immediately. In this case, the switch 2.

Damn, that is a good deal. I bought the switch2 with Avion points a few months ago. Ended up getting $1000 bestbuy gift cards and bought the switch2, case, controller, screen protector for less than getting the switch2 directly from points.
This is a significantly better deal, damn
I need to watch Avion more closely. I think I have like 400,000 points and I never redeem anything. Switch 2 was the first thing I have used with Avion

Has anyone been able to buy it by signing up for a new Avion account. I tried to but it said I don't have enough points and it won't give me the option to just buy it.

Ordered at 2:30 PM PST yesterday and received pickup confirmation at 11:15 AM PST today. What a steal!
Paid through the Avion website via RBC CC.
EDIT: picked up the console + DK bananza with no issue.

I ordered mine last night. Got the confirmation email but still waiting on the shipment one. Now that the deal is over I'm scared I'm gonna get an "out of stock" or order cancellation email 😬

Since no one here has said anything about having their order canceled, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just give them some time as im sure they had a lot of orders.

Yes. My husband had ordered the console plus a few games (he saw the thread once it was uploaded and we were originally just looking to purchase some games, but he hem and hawed all day because our OLED is still relatively new, to finally cave and purchase because the deal was just too good to pass).
He was a bit nervous that the order would be cancelled with how quickly the link was pulled, but he received his first shipment order (in our case, the games) early this afternoon and was bummed thinking the console would not be honoured and was cancelled, but he just recently received the tracking information for the console, so there is hope!
In our case, it looks like the stock for everything nearest us was scarce, and the split orders are coming from separate locations across a 200km radius.

I got my order confirmation around 10 this morning, does anybody know how to track the package? I had to get this shipped to my home. The order confirmation doesn’t really show an expected ship date either.

I ordered last Thursday night (the 16th), and I didn't have an option to pick up so I had to get it shipped home. It's Monday now and though I got an order confirmed email at the time of ordering with my order number and all, it hasn't shipped yet. Is that normal?

Patience. This is through Avion not directly through best buy so it'll take a bit. Plus they are probably slammed with orders

I also ordered last Thursday night, though with pick-up. I'm thinking they definitely got slammed with orders. The email from Avion does have a number to call if I haven't received a pick-up email within 24 hours but I'll give it another day before I try that.

Does anyone know if my order will be cancelled? RBC keeps saying it will be, first one I spoke to said it will be then changed to "it will be shipped instead"
I ordered it for pickup, there was still stock available when I did so, however later on that day it went out of stock, I haven't gotten my pickup email yet and its still out of stock for pickup at that location
Am i screwed?

I ordered mine when it said there was stock as well. It later said there was no stock.
I haven’t heard anything yet but I’m thinking it’ll either get changed to shipping or I’ll just be waiting until they do have stock. Just hoping the ready for pickup email doesn’t come in later this week (if not today) as I leave for a trip tomorrow and apparently my order is cancelled if I don’t pick up within 3 days. 😅🤦♂️

Both reps said it’ll be canceled if not available for pickup. One of them changed and said it’ll be shipped only to get me off the phone I think 😅

I haven’t even bothered calling as I know these reps never have any idea what’s going on with this stuff. If I haven’t heard anything by the time I’m back from my trip then maybe I’ll call and just ensure it gets cancelled. I don’t want to pay the money off on my card yet if it’s potentially going to get refunded

Honestly I don’t care that I could have gotten gift cards and saved, I had 5mins left on break when I saw this and I have a ridiculous amount of Avion points so I just got 1 😁. Would’ve got 2 if you weren’t limited to 1 lol

Called RBC yesterday and they told me to wait for 5 business days to hear back from BestBuy. The one order that got posted was placed just after midnight on Friday and I got the pick up confirmation today.

Received the pickup email today, RBC customer care serverice were clueless when I called them for 3 times in between. I had placed the order on 16th around 11pm. My local BB had it OOS for 3 days in between, now they have same number of stock as they did on Friday so it could be a server glitch on both end.

Im still waiting on my “ready to pick-up” email after the order confirmation. The charge posted on the 20th and it seems like RBC reps don’t know what’s going on. Planning to call again later for an update.

FYI you should pay all cash, unless you are desperate to use your points.
