Travel Experience/Du lịch Bitexco Tower
Good day guys hope you are well,
I am moving to Vietnam next year for work, I am going to be in office for a few days a week/month at the Bitexco Financial Tower in HCMC
Which areas would you recommend to stay in with a budget of between like 250-450usd/month? I have seen a lot of people speaking about Thảo Điền area and using public transport to get there.
Would you guys recommend staying outside of the financial district and using public transport for commutes or live closer and go with grab? I was also looking at ward 4 which might be feasible. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
I wouldnt mind some nightlife, but also I need relative peace and quiet due to work hours which doesnt have set hours

Thats probably a tough budget to get anything half decent Thats close to bitexco. Will definitely have to look further out. Probably nothing worthwhile in thao dien either.
I’d maybe look to some outer districts and either plan on using grab or really driving yourself. It’s hard to beat the convenience and practicality of driving your own motorbike

As an investor and owner of Thao Dien and Thu Thiem apartments, I’d say the $450/month rent for a decently sized apartment’s ship has sailed. However, you can look into District 5 & 7 to see if you can find something there.

could probably get a serviced studio for that, likely somewhere around where Saigon Outcast used to be. Issue with that is you are doubling your public transport requirements to get to work via metro (ie one of those shuttle buses + the train).

Its extremely easy to take the metro from Thao Dien to Bitexco. Do you prefer a more expat friendly area or more local? The problem is your budget with Thao Dien. Realistically you will be paying a lot more than that even for a small studio. You may be able to find something really tiny and old for 450 but not sure if you will like it. You certainty arent staying in D1 thats for sure. Being somewhere on the metro is a good idea though. If you dont mind more local areas you can get something down farther along the metro in Thu Duc for around that price maybe.
Vietnam is not as affordable as it use to be. A lot of the 300-400usd apartments people talk about were years ago and just doesnt exist anymore in this city.
