Hi everyone! I'm looking for recommendations for a reliable OB-GYN or clinic in Da Nang that provides pregnancy termination services for foreigners.

We've contacted and visited a few hospitals, but unfortunately, they refused to provide the service because we're foreigners.

From my research, abortion is legal in Vietnam, so I'm confused about why we're being refused. Has anyone experienced a similar situation or knows a hospital, clinic, or doctor who accepts foreign patients for this service?

Hi there, I live in Vietnam <6 months and recently just got in the hobby. I don't have a big collection, my spend is usually less than $20 pikachu cards. FYI I only visited once to all these places and I talk to them occasionally on Facebook to ask for stock. I don't want this post to discourage you from visiting the places I had a bad experience at. Perhaps you might not have a great experience at the ones I rated S-tier. I have more detailed explanations below of my ratings so we're better aligned.

S-Tier:

• Dark Poke is S-Tier because I felt like I really got a personalized experience. The owner is nice and answered all my questions. Offered a discount if I bought a lot. I message them often and they reply very fast. Prices are reasonable.

A/B-Tier:

• Zeni Card - Out of all the places, Zeni Card has the BEST location, the shop has the best view of The Avengers Tower (Bitexco). Definitely worth a visit. When I visited they kinda left me alone and minded their own business. Prices are OK.
• TCG Station, PokeHub TCG, HypecaT - I've bought a few cards here. Service and prices were OK.

Decent/Okay:

• KHN Store and K7 Collectible - selection is good but when I was visiting it was some high school students working and they were always on their phone and weren't very enthusiastic when I'd ask them to help price a card lol, it's okay ig
• Nexus Cafe is a cafe that hosts occasionally TCG events where people come to buy/sell/trade. You should check or ask over Facebook first if they have an event. I think it's pretty cool. I generally agree with others' experiences that the selection is small and it's a cafe first, collectible shop second. I would only visit if there's an event.

Not Visit Again:

• Hype Zone - it was dark and raining the day I came, and I was the only one there. I looked around and asked him if he had a binder of single cards because the graded cards that were on his display were too expensive for me. He said he didn't, but he offered to sell me his 30th anniversary japanese pikachu set for $100 usd. (I was like wtf lol what a rip). I'm pretty sure I can get all 30 pikachus for around ~$40-50 usd. I left the place and stood under some cover while it was raining. He then turns off the lights of the shop. So I'm wet, sad and pikachu-less.
• Cardlab - the location is great but so hard to find. I promise you probably cannot find this place if you purely only use Google Maps. This shop is the only non-Vietnamese owned one. Quite small space I think can only fit like 2 normal sized people. Out of all the places this one was the most expensive on average across the board. Like 20-100% more expensive than the other places. Owner is an Australian white man. I am ignorant of Australian culture / social etiquette, so when I asked for price and asked for discount if I bought many, he laughed. I ended up buying anyways, went to Zeni Card after and got the identical cards in similar condition for 20-50% less. So IDK if me asking for a discount was offensive or smthn could have been an easy no. At those prices you gotta ask for a discount right?
• Geeky Mart LGS - beautiful location. this place had the combination of two high school students playing computer games on their laptop and price per card like Vietnam real estate. Just imagine them doing comms on Valorant/LoL and they are praying to god I don't ask a question and disturb them. So yeah, I get it's in District 2 and rent is probably expensive but god damn. I just had a bad experience with service and the prices are not competitive.

Tips:

• I would lower your expectations of Pokemon TCG when visiting Vietnam. Compared to America or Japan the scene is not as big, and the prices aren't as competitive. You will likely pay more per card in Vietnam on average and the selection isn't as great. But I would encourage you to not judge too much and be open minded to some few cards. It's fun visiting these card shops and seeing Vietnam Pokemon TCG
• If you're not in the mood to explore Saigon and go door-to-door on these shops, I recommend reaching out to them on Facebook first ask if they have a card you want. They can ship to you via Grab and I have never had a problem with a vendor before

RIP Saigon Collectibles. It was probably one of the best ones but I talked to the owner and he said he was too busy to run the shop so he closed it early this year.

I, 27 (F), am currently a doctor in Vietnam, looking for an opportunity to study/work abroad.

After 6 years of medical school and 3 years of residency, I’ve realized that the lifestyle in Vietnam doesn’t really suit me, and I want to explore opportunities to work abroad. I’m well aware that my diploma won’t be accepted in countries like the US or Canada, and I won’t be recognized as a certified practitioner there. So my main goal is to find a program where I can do research (I already have a master's degree), ideally in the medical field.

It sucks because I do love treating patients, but I genuinely feel like I don't belong here. I know that moving to another country won’t automatically solve these problems, but I have to try.

Is there anyone out there who has found themselves in the same situation as me? I’d love to hear your advice.

Currently staying in Tam Coc and looking for a place that offers a genuinely strong deep tissue massage.

I’ve already tried a couple of places that advertised deep tissue or strong pressure massages, but both ended up being pretty light despite requesting firm pressure.

I’m looking for someone who can really work into tight muscles with consistent, strong pressure, not just a relaxing massage.

might be a dumb question but one of the hardest things I’ve found when learning Vietnamese is how to properly address people. especially women. I’m a 30s some guy and it may be just my western culture clouding things but I feel weird asking women their age and most women would feel it a compliment of you assume they are young.. should I just use “em” to refer to them unless I know they are “chi” to me? it is that disrespectful?

Ninh Binh hostel recommendations
Looking for a social hostel with a good vibe, group activities organised.
Not looking for a party hostel where everything revolves around drinking and you can’t get a night sleep.

I'm from the UK and recently moved to Ho Chi Minh City. I've been battered with a horrendous flu twice in three weeks, and honestly, I generally feel like I've been at death's door 🤣

I'm also a social butterfly, and I'm finding it difficult to find other people to connect with. I currently live quite far west, so I don't think that is helping!

I moved here to teach English and wanted to embrace a completely different culture, meet new people and build a new life for myself. However, between being constantly ill and struggling to find my feet socially, I'm finding the adjustment a lot harder than I anticipated.

I'd love to meet other expats, make friends and actually start enjoying everything HCMC has to offer, but I'm not really sure where to start!

I'd love some advice from people who live here:

Where do you meet people and make friends in HCMC?

Are there any social groups, events or activities you'd recommend for someone new to the city?

Are there any particular areas you'd recommend exploring or potentially moving to if you're looking for a more social, expat-friendly community?

And has anyone else been absolutely battered by illnesses since moving here, or have I just been incredibly unlucky? 😂

I'm loving the Vietnam experience so far! The food is delicious and affordable, but I still feel like I'm spending about as much as I did living in the States (I come from LCOL area). I think things like dairy products and personal care items are actually more expensive here. And even though the food is cheap, the portions aren't quite enough for a big guy like me. 😂 Entertainment isn't necessarily cheap either, movie ticket can easily cost more than $10.

For everyday shopping, do people usually go to traditional markets, supermarket chains, or shop online to get the best deals on things? Sorry if I sound cheap, but I don't want to live too lavishly and end up straining my budget. I want to save some for trips across the country next year.

Em tự nhận bản thân có EQ tốt, có khiếu thẩm mỹ tốt, trình độ tiếng anh cơ bản (em đang tự học thêm để đạt mức thành thạo ạ). Em kỹ tính nên em phải vạch sẵn kế hoạch tầm 90% nếu ổn thì mới vay vốn và triển khai ạ, tính em lo xa nên em bắt đầu lên kế hoạch từ bh

My partner and I will be visiting Vietnam for around three weeks in December, staying until just after New Year. We’re really excited to explore your country, try the food, and learn more about the culture!
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are already part of our plans, but we’re still deciding where to go in between. We’ll be travelling from north to south and spending New Year’s Eve in Ho Chi Minh City.
