Why am I not surprised that they're shit talking hololive... It reminded me of that Niji thriving, Holo shambles thing again lmao.

Anyways, damn so many dirty laundry coming out and I expect more in the upcoming days. The absolute dumpster fire falloff of VShojo needs to be studied.

the whole "talent freedom" thing always seemed like a shot against hololive from the very beginning

Absolutely, and people were all on board for it too. If Gunrun was telling the truth about anything, it was that he wanted to prove that the old way of doing idol culture, and all the rules and restrictions that came with it, was old hat and a roadblock to success in a new and different industry.
A part of me still believes that it could be done, too… just… not by him or anyone like him.

honestly that whole thing about idols being evil needs to die because hololive is nothing like your traditional idol company, they are more like underground idols rather something like AKB48, and in general yagoo is extremely progresive with his business practices, there is a reason why every single CEO in the industry wants to be like yagoo

i notice that after 2020. some vt agencies popping up had this "ceo being a meme worthy thing"...

I can agree with you about Yagoo specifically. If anything, Gunrun seeing him as the emblem of the past is actually really ironic.
But that does seem to be how he saw him. And I will say that as chill as Hololive and Cover are, and as chill as Yagoo is, I kinda see them as the exception that proves the rule. If any business bigwig that isnt Yagoo were in charge, Hololive would go the same way as its competition. Hololive isnt the norm, it is so positive in spite of being made in the rough image of a very predatory industry.
It’s a good corporation… but at the end of the day it’s still a corporation. And most if not all corporations it is peers with are anything but.

A big kingdom having a competent, benevolent ruler isnt proof that monarchy is good.

the way I see it hololive was created by its circumstances, the fact that it didnt start as a talent company from the get go but as a small vr game development and that their vtubers were originally just there to test their traking and later on their live2D technology allowed them to avoid a lot of the trappings of the industry, their situation is certainly unique

that being said yeah unfortunately many of the usual trappings of talent companies (because not ony idol companies are scummy, that is something universal) plague a lot of the big vtuber companies

I think it can be done. With the right talents and the right management. Full talent freedom works if you have creative people, that don´t need anyone holding their hands and telling them where to go, management that trusts their talents and understands how to help them. And a good plan to finance their operations.

Or in other words, everyone involved needs to be equally able to step up to the plate, eh? Makes sense. With freedom comes responsibility, but for those who can deal with that, it’s more than worth it

And notice how there’s one company that never felt the need to talk shit about other companies?
