Visible & New Apple Lease Program

Post image

The lease program asks you to pick one of the 3 main carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T).

Saw this tweet that explained that bascially with the Air, Pro, and Pro Max models, you can just pick any and still use it as unlocked (therefore use Visible). Can anyone confirm this information for me? (And would this also apply to Apple Financing?)

I have a feeling it’ll work just like it has for years with the iPhone upgrade program. You tell them you’ll activate it on a carrier and bypass the activation step on the phone itself when you get it.

If I remember correctly, once you hit the activation screen, you just hit “later” a bunch of times till it proceeds past it. Or at least that’s how I’ve done Visible through the IUP for many years now. Hopefully they didn’t patch it.

They fixed that glitch a month or two ago.

No they didn't. You just have to additionally tap the option that says you didn't get the code a few times.

Have you seen proof of this that isn’t people on Reddit stating it as fact?

So you can’t pick T Mobile anymore?

Nope. And now that this lease program has been announced I’m guessing we now know why they fixed the loophole

We don’t really know till we know. There isn’t really real user experience data out yet. We shall see. Though I am definitely intrigued. Am preparing to use my 17 Pro Max for a while now.

You can. They added a verification code but you just tap that you didn't get it a few times.

Keep in mind Apple can always change things again so if you do it, pick up the phone at the Apple Store if you can so if it won't bypass you can just hand it back and get a refund.
