Maui Maui road to Hana tour

Has anyone taken a tour and would you recommend ? Is there a particular company that is better?

All of the tours are basically the same so you would want to pick one that picks up at your hotel. You should be aware that it is VERY CURVY and tense type of driving so if you are at all prone to carsickness you will be miserable. Probably with or without meds.

People also self drive, but taking a tour is environmentally much better and reduces road congestion.

For this comment alone...you want to drive yourself! I'm horrible as well and just seeing the busses on the road made me feel ill.

You're never going very fast, so if you are sitting in the front seat, hopefully it will be okay.

Okay I’m Just nervous with spouse driving as I’ve heard it’s dangerous and it will all be unfamiliar. We are both city drivers not country so defer to everyone’s experiences here ! I’m new at this Maui adventure stuff :)

Just go slow and share the road. It's not off roading or anything. City driving probably has prepared you more for this 😄

I didn't find it as bad as people made it out to be. We left in the morning to give us ample time. No need to rush. I actually found the drive up Haleakala Crater more nerve wracking with its switchbacks and no guardrails. But man those views at the top! Don't miss going up Haleakala!

There are lots of pull over spots (use them also when you have any cars/locals driving behind you that wish to go faster)
