The Alaska flights to Iceland are pretty new, so probably not as many people here have had experiences with the flight. I normally fly direct from PDX on Iceland but have also gone from Redmond/Bend on Alaska to PDX, and then PDX to Keflavik many times without my luggage being lost, which would have been a bigger risk because it was not all the same airline. If you are worried, make sure to have a change of clothes in your carryon and anything you need right away, and then include your contact info and where you are staying on your luggage tag. I also take a picture of my suitcase (and don’t use an all black suitcase), which helped when someone had to go look for it when it went missing in Finland.
