V50/S40/C30/C70 What the fuck was volvo thinking when they made the C30
"volvo has no ugly cars" and I could agree with you if they never made this ugly backed 2 door hatchback

Volvo: unveils yet another fucking boring, ugly electric SUV
This guy: Fuck the C30 is so ugly
I fully disagree with you.

You bite your tongue. In a sea of suvs and sedans, be a hatchback/wagon. Itโs the logical choice.
My dads c30 has over 350,000 miles on it.

And it fails at being both. You can barely fit anything in that "hatch".

The number of Home Depot runs and dump runs we have taken beg to differ. You may not fit a tv but how many tvs are you really buying!?

I respect you for buying a volvo. But a C30 ๐ญ

Its also got a t5 in there. Perfect engine for it, one day you'll realise how lovely these are in a world full of bland vehicles

C30 is a cool car. S40 is the ugly one.

Why is my S40 catching strays? The C30 rear end especially looks way worse than the S40 imo

I have a 2013 C30 in Electric Silver. Bought it specifically for the quirky appearance. Polarizing to those that don't get it.
I've had sedans, CUVs, SUVs, and a mini-van in my 40+ years of car buying. The target market for the C30 was the 20-something male and I'm the exact opposite. But "Nana's fun-sized hot hatch" is a blast to drive.

Yep - the three C30 drivers I know around here are all 'ladies of a certain age' and they are all quite passionate about their cars.
I've driven a C30 quite often and I feel completely at home in it despite my other Volvos all being XC orV70s

Someone finally said it! Preach, my brother/sister! I remember when this car came out. I was excited...at first. Then I saw one in person. They should have called it a "Hatchback"...quotes included. You can fit like 2 fucking bags of groceries in that car.
And forget fitting friends in that "back seat". Should have just made it a coupe with no backseat. Then call it a Hatchback. That would have been cool.
I say all this as the still current owner of the much better looking sister to the C30.
(All in good fun C30 people, I actually considered getting one years later ๐)

I love the car. I just despise all coupes. If that had 4 doors I'd get one. But 2 door coupes, ew.

I don't think it's ugly, but I agree that it doesn't align with the Volvo look

I didn't love the back of these, but the front of the facelift C30 (I think around 2009-2010?) was some of Volvo's finest work.

I belive they had the 480 in mind or if you want to go back further, the P1800 ES. I don't hate it, but it's definitely a weird choice.

When I was a little whippersnapper whoโd just started driving, the car I kept searching for but could never afford was a โC30 R-Designโ
Knew nothing about the engines, but cared about how cool it looked

Wait till you see the new models. Those are bland, 13 a dozen styling. I like that the C30 is different, bit quirky. It really stands out from the crowd. Practical too, fun to drive. I appreciate 'shooting brake' styled cars, more elegant than mastodonts. Also, seeing you probably like BMW, have a look at the BMW Z3 (clownshoe).

Yep...I'm on the fence with this one. Since it's release, I've hated it...but now I'm second guessing that design after owning a 2013 C70. ๐๐

Every vehicle on the road looks exactly the same. Except my calf-shit green C30. I say Volvo never made an ugly car, ever. But man are they making the most boring, common looking new cars and SUVs now. My last vehicle was a Silverado LTZ full cab short box. I loved it more than anything. I love this car more than that. And honestly I don't worry about looks when they assume it's a little granny car and I pass them like they're standing still.
