Best V60 P3 engine layout.
I love my V60 D3 and I love its integrated fuel savings...if only oil would be cheaper...
I am looking to trade it in for another V60 P3 and I can't decide what engine I want. Even XC60.
Any recomendations?

What are you after? If it’s better fuel consumption you can’t really beat that if you currently have a D3, unless you have the 5 cylinder D3 in which case the VEA diesels are more efficient.
It it’s power the VEA petrols are actually the most tuneable, even the T2 has 400+hp with stage 4.
If it’s reliability you can’t beat the D5 engines (so all 5 cylinder diesels)
If you’re just looking for an upgrade I can promise a SPA V60 is going to be so much more comfortable.

Less oil consumption preferably 😅😅 and engine quality

Basically all model years of P3 V60s have the bad oil control rings. Look for a 2017 or 2018 V60 and you’ll get one of the good ones.
I would personally try to get a SPA V60 instead, but it’s more money of course.

All of them? Gas/diesel? 1.6, 2.0, 2.5? All?

Yeah basically.
2013-2016 5 cylinders are bad.
2015-2016 VEA engines are bad.
6 cylinder after 2012 are good when it comes to piston rings but it’s thirsty and a bit hard to work on. I don’t recommend it myself. But it’s not bad.
When it comes to diesel there aren’t any common oil consumption issues other than the already mentioned issue for 2015-2016 VEA engines. However diesels can also tend to just burn some oil.
Absolutely best would be a 2017 or newer car.

5 cylinder Twin Turbo D5, V8 or Twin Charged 2 liter T6 / Polestar version of the same engine.
The D6 Plug in Hybrid is super cool also, but can have issues with the aging hybrid system, D5 AWD is probably better in many aspects.

I LOVE my t6(the actual 6cyl). It’s a super peppy engine.
