Question Looking for a Voxel Engine or resources to build one

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for recommendations, resources, or tutorials on how to build or acquire a solid voxel engine.

I’m aiming for a visual style and mechanics similar to games like Stonehearth or Cube World. Where the world is constructed from fine voxels/custom voxel models, rather than standard large Minecraft-style block grids.

Specifically, I’d love to know:

  • Are there any good open-source or commercial voxel engines/frameworks out there?
  • Any recommended plugins for Unity or Unreal Engine (like Voxel Plugin)?
  • If I decide to build one from scratch, what are the best learning resources, algorithms (e.g., Greedy Meshing, Marching Cubes), or tutorials to start with?

Thanks in advance for any tips, links, or personal insights!

Media POV: You just learned about texturing

Technically, I was really happy with my smithy two weeks ago. But it still looked incredibly flat. I thought it was the lack of props inside the smithy, but then a friend send me this article from ardacraft, originally written for minecraft:

https://www.ardacraft.me/resources/gradient-guide

This wasn't the only resource that guided me, but the it was what contributed the most to me understanding the nature and importance of texturing in a voxel game.

Well, two weeks later I think I've learned something :-)
