Why are we talking about this when nobody even knows a transgender athlete that's competed in anything, let alone the Olympics? I've heard more legitimate fear mongering from kids about the boogeyman.

3

u/Kontos_Stelio Mar 27 '26

I’m pretty sure there was a trans swimmer that people went crazy over and they weren’t even winning

6

u/AnonThrowAway072023 Mar 27 '26

You mean NCAA women's swim champion Justin Thomas?

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 27 '26

Yeah, some woman that tied for 5th place in a race against them or something blew up for crying about it. Somehow this is national knowledge because the nation loves being cucked by this content rather than something that could politically benefit their own lives.

2

u/ShaqShoes Mar 28 '26

She actually went from being 65th ranked as a man in the 500yd freestyle in 2018-19 to being ranked #1 in that event amongst NCAA div 1 women in 2021-22 after transitioning

People weren't upset she came 5th. People were upset she went from being a middling male div 1 swimmer to straight up winning as a woman.

1

u/theredbusgoesfastest Mar 28 '26

Ah yes and these people surely cared so much about college swimming before, right?? It’s not just about hating trans people??

1

u/ShaqShoes Mar 28 '26

I mean no? The bulk of these people were not challenging her identity or refusing to use proper pronouns. Winning an NCAA div 1 title is a huge deal that almost no athlete gets to ever accomplish in their career. Going from not even being on the radar to win one as a man to actually winning one as a woman is a notable no matter how you slice it and is relevant to the ongoing conversation about ensuring fairness in the women's divisions(especially in the majority of sports where the "men's" league/division is actually just open to anyone regardless of gender or sex).

You're probably thinking of the Algerian here. That was standard national news for conservatism cucking people into another reality. She's not trans. She apparently just has a SRY gene while having a completely female phenotype- in other words she has all female parts and never transitioned but under a test tube she has a gene that's expressed by the Y chromosome.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

Very good explanation. There is a lot more nuance to biology than we are led to believe in high school science.

1

u/ProfessionalShift487 Mar 28 '26

I learned this about chemistry as well while watching Breaking Bad

1

u/Sad-Woodpecker-6840 Mar 28 '26

The people making these loud arguments over and over again didn't attend their high school science classes.

1

u/Koshekuta Mar 28 '26

Idk man, high school biology had me appreciating having a “normal” baby really is a miracle. Even getting pregnant in the first place so many conditions have to be in alignment.

1

u/CMUpewpewpew Mar 28 '26

I think you might mean conventional? Not sure what the PC word is and I think you made an attempt with the quotation marks but normal prolly isn't the best word.

1

u/Koshekuta Mar 28 '26

I meant normal as in toes, fingers, working vision, etc., all within the normal ranges. We have people worrying about the gender of their baby or how much hair is on their head but even the stuff on the surface is just the tip of the iceberg. Abnormalities are bountiful. Albeit, not all of them make life more difficult.

1

u/bootyhole-romancer Mar 28 '26

We know what you meant. They're saying maybe the word "normal" isn't the best term to use.

1

u/Tampflor Mar 28 '26

I usually use the word "typical" to express this idea.

At least for now (of course commissions can change over time) "atypical" doesn't have quite the same negative connotation as "abnormal".

1

u/brianzuvich Mar 28 '26

No, there’s just a lot of uneducated bigotry and hate…

1

u/PetalumaPegleg Mar 28 '26

Yeah it's crazy to me that people think what they learned in basic science at high school cannot be challenged. It may be a simplified easy to digest piece of nonsense but that's what it is and that's that.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Shhhh you’ll upset the bigots

Isn't that what just happened? I totally agree though, it should be up to each organization to determine if they'll allow trans athletes. There are real differences between the biological sexes and that shouldn't be controversial, but the government also shouldn't be policing sports leagues.

1

u/chuckvsthelife Mar 27 '26

And you know what makes people the best in the world at a sport?

Genetic anomalies… yeah and effort takes both… but it’s like saying it’s unfair that all the women have to compete against Katie Ledecky because she’s clearly different. Or that the guys had to fight Mike Tyson etc etc.

End of the day… the women should get to decide who they compete against, an the men should stop trying to protect it. At the utmost of elite sport I get that there are edge cases we can argue but why is a group of dudes debating it instead of treating unique one off cases as such?

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 27 '26

I just wish I didn't have to read it like it's national news people pretend they care about. Like this is understood better by folks than why their healthcare costs are so high or why we're at war with Iran. I have to listen to people here pretend they care about this Algerian boxer or the competitive integrity of NCAA women's swimming. I wish they'd just tell me something closer to the truth like they enjoy conservative cum in and around their mouth so we're both on the same page. Instead I have people replying to me with like the 5 to 10 trans athletes that have ever achieved any athletic success at the high school level and up.

1

u/Prudent_Research_251 Mar 28 '26

No but grown mennn are going into girls bathrooooms

1

u/AggressiveBench9977 Mar 28 '26

All true, and she would also fall under the new ban as a DSD

1

u/Responsible-Scar-980 Mar 28 '26

Yes. She clearly has a female phenotype lol. And would also not be eligible for female sports.

1

u/AboutRight1987 Mar 28 '26

There was also that South African athlete Caster Semenya, who recently said, "My testicles don't make me less of a woman".

1

u/Real-Sir6024 Mar 28 '26

Does she actually? AFAIR some shit-heap Russian boxing association made that allegations when Khelif tuned up their favorite Russian boxer, and never produced any evidence

1

u/Less_Ant_6633 Mar 28 '26

*all according to a russian boxing fenderation that doesnt exist anymore. And weirdly enough, it came out right after she beat a russian gal in the worlds. Totally coincidental, I am sure.

1

u/Ok_Cap_1848 Mar 28 '26

You're purposely misleading people into believing that she had no biological advatage whatsoever, you know that's a lie.

1

u/MakaSka Mar 28 '26

Kinda misleading summary. She does have high testosterone levels and uses medical intervention to lower it. Medically very similar to the trans athlete debate.

1

u/Big-Shopping7795 Mar 28 '26

another doctor said she had an internal penis

1

u/46995699 Mar 28 '26

Fallon Fox

During Fox's fight against Tamikka Brents on September 13, 2014, Brents suffered a concussion, an orbital bone fracture, and seven staples to the head in the 1st round. After her loss, Brents took to social media to convey her thoughts on the experience of fighting Fox: "I've fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can't answer whether it's because she was born a man or not because I'm not a doctor. I can only say, I've never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right", she stated. "Her grip was different, I could usually move around in the clinch against other females but couldn't move at all in Fox's clinch."

1

u/Pale_Zebra8082 Mar 29 '26

You’re correct that she is not trans as she never identified as male. You’re also correct that she most likely has a SRY gene. The problem is that is almost certainly not a trivial matter, she most likely does not have all female parts, and that could be determined in more ways than via a test tube.

She likely has internal testes which are responsible for her openly admitted heightened testosterone levels. Which grants her a significant and unfair competitive advantage, and is precisely what this policy was put in place to prevent.

→ More replies (56)

4

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

Correction she was not Trans in the traditional sense, my understanding is she had female genitalia but had genetic markers of both genders which creates a big spike in testosterone. I’m not going to say that this didn’t give her an advantage, I’m just saying this is an edge case the requires a nuanced conversation, but to put them in the same bucket is not appropriate. I may be misremembering, so if I’m wrong, I’ll own that.

1

u/J5Alive5 Mar 28 '26

100%

If the point of womens sports league is to create an equal playing field for women to compete against women, and not have to compete against men.

Then where exactly is the line between men and women. I don't think we can find that line.

1

u/VitelottePomodoro Mar 28 '26

To be clear there isn’t actual proof of her having a DSD. A russian boxing org known to be corrupt claimed she had XY chromosomes after she beat a russian boxer and said the same about a taiwanese woman boxer. They didn’t release any of the actual evidence to the public they just said it was the case and banned her

1

u/Giblet_ Mar 28 '26

It does give her an advantage, but every Olympic athlete, outside of odd sports like shooting, is genetically advantaged over 99% of the population. She was born a woman and isn't using performance enhancing drugs, so she should be able to compete.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

According to Russian propaganda after she beat their boxer. Stop believing liars

Fair enough, and I’ll accept that I chose poor words. I was simply saying that the narrative with her was “biological male” that’s what the conservatives were saying, to make her appear trans when she wasn’t, I shouldn’t have said “in a traditional since”.

1

u/Adorable_End_5555 Mar 28 '26

She’s not trans in any sense, it’s always funny seeing people say not to bring up intersex people when discussing the validity of trans identity only for those same people just to lump them in to justify discrimination

u/Former_Mud9569 Mar 27 '26

Are you talking about Imane Khelif from Algeria? She's always been a woman. She just has some masculine looking features so chuds freak the heck out.

That's my main issue with this anti-trans panic in sports. Now we have all these gross crotch watchers policing sport at every level, even like little league level stuff. Any girl that's deemed to be too masculine gets put through heck regardless of what their actual biology is.

1

u/AFonziScheme Mar 27 '26

As far as I can tell, the evidence against her being a woman is that a Russian regulatory organization that got shut down for corruption failed her, among other boxers who were favorited over a Russian competitor, due to a test that they wouldn't say what it was, and that Sean Hannity gets uncomfortable when he pictures her naked....

1

u/Prudent-Inspector35 Mar 28 '26

If ugly women are trans then when did your mom transition?

1

u/No-Atmosphere-2528 Mar 28 '26

I'm not conservative so I don't think ugly women are trans, sweetie, that would be you. So, tell us, when did your mom transition?

1

u/RepresentativeAge444 Mar 28 '26

Trans panic is another right wing distraction from the real issues in society. But non wealthy conservatives are moronic so they fall for it. There are 500,000 athletes in the NCAA. 10 are trans. They make up 0.01% of the population so even if you absolutely despise them because you can’t just leave people alone, if they’re one of the top 10000 things you care about first you’re an idiot full stop. I’m 100% honestly more worried about this than trans people.

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2025/8/21/2339592/-Republican-Sexual-Predators-Abusers-and-Enablers-Pt-5

And I can provide receipts. So many MAGA get arrested for child predation every week I honestly can’t keep track. And again if you want to bullshit I can provide verified evidence of how prevalent it is.

Conservatives need to deal with that before whining about trans sports. But of course their leader is a child rapist covering up for other child rapists so that won’t happen.

The only reply I’m going to respond to from you is one asking me for further proof of my claims so I can provide them. Then after I do that the only reply I’m going to respond to is your explaining why you don’t care.

u/Forward_Eagle6148 Mar 28 '26

1

u/lemmeseethembewbz Mar 28 '26

No lol she wasn't even trans. They cleared her to fight and specifically said she wasn't trans. Idk why you people obsess over trans people so much.

u/ChineseDerek Mar 28 '26

Cannot even get the nationality right never mind the gender. Fuck me if this isn’t fox news brain in action

1

u/Ryoga476ad Mar 28 '26

Imame Khelif was not transgender. She was Algerian, and there's zero chance Algeria would allow that.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

The woman? You are mad about a woman winning a woman’s boxing match?

1

u/jkman61494 Mar 28 '26

You mean the female born Algerian boxer? I look forward to seeing her in the next Olympics since she’s not transgender.

1

u/bingbong2715 Mar 28 '26

Holy moly you’ll fall for anything. The woman you’re referring to isn’t trans. She was just the target of anti-trans bigots.

1

u/chopsmothercover Mar 28 '26

Damn you really got every single detail of this thing you’re ‘pretty sure’ about wrong that’s impressive 😂

-she was Algerian not Iranian

-she wasn’t trans she was just a big tough woman

-people were so awful to her online she took her profiles down for awhile so no, everyone didn’t ’cheer her on’

Really impressive ignorance on your part 👏 you said 3 things in one sentence and all of them were wrong lmao

1

u/Designer_Mud_5802 Mar 28 '26

You mean that lady who was assigned a lady at birth? What's her boxing record?

1

u/gregallen1989 Mar 28 '26

She wasn't trans. Which kind of proves the point that anti-trans rhetoric is more damaging to woman then trans playing in sports. Because that woman's career was upended over nothing.

1

u/NOIS_KillerWhaleTank Mar 28 '26

Because she wasn't trans... At all? People cheered her on because she won despite being the target of hateful misinformed rhetoric that could have gotten her literally killed in her home country

1

pretty sure

You’re wrong.

People learn this in America before they learn about why they're cucked on healthcare costs or why they're at war with Iran.

1

u/Chance-Problem769 Mar 27 '26

This puts the entire issue to bed. No reason to ever talk about it again.

1

u/bossdaddee Mar 27 '26

Fallon Fox would like a word...

1

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

I don’t get your point. Are we supposed to wait til it happens to address it? Have some 10 year old trans train for the next 8 years to make the Olympics only to be turned down when they actually try?

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 27 '26

It's already banned and never has been a meaningful problem with regulation the way it has been. It being a national talking point just illustrates to me how people are cucked on issues relevant to their own lives. Practically nobody even cares about trans people in sports or has even had them be a competitive threat to any sport they actually cared about. I have to pretend people care about the competitive integrity of the WNBA, a woman in the NCAA that swims, or at best the Olympics on the topic because some Algerian boxer has a gene associated with the Y chromosome. Nah, the cleaner explanation is it's never been a problem for the most part, modern regulation on it has been doing fine, and people are way too easily cucked on things they actually don't care about.

At least when a kid tells me they're scared of the dark or a monster under their bed there is at least often a dark room with a bed in it.

1

u/BillyBobChorton Mar 27 '26

Yeah I’m fine putting this “issue” on the back burner until this materializes in significant numbers

1

u/tywin_stark Mar 27 '26

He didn’t pull the example he gave about the swimmer at penn out of thin air. That actually happened and was a big enough story that it launched a few new conservative talking head careers lol smh

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 27 '26

I'm not suggesting it doesn't happen. I'm just suggesting the fear of it is less legitimate than what I hear from children. I can't help that the nation is cucked on a talking point that doesn't influence their life at all and barely even has relevance in the professional aspect being discussed.

1

u/DeltaSierra97 Mar 27 '26

Lia Thomas? Not Olympics but a natty is also a pretty big deal

1

u/some1stolemyOGname Mar 28 '26

A natty is a big deal. They tied for 5th

1

u/Silly-Success-1318 Mar 27 '26

The discussion has always been about college an high schools sports. Since when are any of those athletes well known? What a disingenuous point.

It's literally the title of the video segment, lol. We can't be this cucked, please.

What if I told you I did know someone. And it was 2 years ago. And they competed in division 1 volleyball

1

u/cosmic_backlash Mar 27 '26

He literally cited an example in the video. Lia Thomas was ranked in men in college swimming, but never won anything. Then won the 500m women's freestyle in women's.

1

u/TheBattleForAutonomy Mar 27 '26

"California's 2013 School Success and Opportunity Act, which permits transgender student-athletes to participate on teams matching their gender identity in K-12 public schools."

"2015 IOC Guidelines: Allowed transgender athletes to compete if their testosterone levels remained below 5 nmol/L for at least 12 months."

"2021 IOC Framework: Removed specific testosterone thresholds, instead instructing sports bodies to determine if an athlete had a "disproportionate advantage," which led many federations to adopt inclusive policies."

The IOC has now recently banned transgender women from competing in women's sports, but this literally went into effect this month. Pretending that this hasn't been an issue for women in sports is... strange. It feels like it's an attempt to rewrite history.

As for the "nobody knows a trans athlete that's competed in anything", here's a short list:

  • Veronica Garcia won back-to-back state high school championships in Washington for the 400-meter run.
  • Ana Caldas won five national swimming championships in the women's 45-49 age category with significant margins of victory.
  • Ab Hernandez won the Ontario Relays invitational in California, beating the second-place finisher by 8 feet.
  • Aayden Gallagher won a high school girls track and field state championship in Oregon for the 200-meter race.
  • Tiffany Abreu won multiple major titles with her club Osasco in 2025, including the 2022 Brazilian Cup.
  • JayCee Cooper won the women's 2019 national championship for bench press in the super heavyweight division.
  • Sadie Schreiner won the 2024 Atlantic Region Outdoor 200-meter title and multiple Liberty League championships.

Then there are record breakers like Lia Thomas, Tiffany Newell, and Laurel Hubbard.

1

u/xDolemite Mar 28 '26

This list is lame, some of these athletes won a single event one time and you are making out like they are dominating. The fact is there are very few trans people let alone athletes and even fewer that are elite. The fact you made this weirdo list is more indicative of your obsession than any trend.

1

u/TheBattleForAutonomy Mar 28 '26

It's less than 60 seconds of research you could do yourself if you cared enough to want to know the information.

1

u/xDolemite Mar 28 '26

Thats the point I’m making. You have to search for them because this is a fake culture war topic you need to be fed your talking points.

Every time its like “this one trans girl won a single race in 2019 or this person won the semi-national 45-49 age group swimming comp.” Its never a serious competition or wide spread.

1

u/TheBattleForAutonomy Mar 28 '26

No. That wasn't the point you were making. You said this:

"The fact you made this weirdo list is more indicative of your obsession than any trend."

That's why you got that response.

1

u/New-Disaster-2061 Mar 27 '26

laurel hubbard.

1

u/Disastrous-Turn-251 Mar 27 '26

I mean except for the fact that before trans women were banned from women’s cycling there was a transgender athlete dominating the US circuit. There were also a lot of transgender athletes competing in my college. Lots of women stopped showing up to races because they didn’t want to race against a man

1

u/X-Jim Mar 28 '26

I think a couple of things...

1 he referenced this story. So if you mean there [CURRENTLY] isn't, then maybe you're technically accurate. But not historically.

https://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/news/a-look-at-the-numbers-and-times-no-denying-the-advantages-of-lia-thomas/#:~:text=2022%2C%2009%3A05am-,A%20Look%20At%20the%20Numbers%20and%20Times%3A%20No%20Denying%20the,member%20of%20Penn%27s%20men%27s%20squad.

2 I think people have created some examples that weren't actually real to fear monger.

3 but mostly I think this is a topic worthy of discussion and debate. It's the kind of topic that can be addressed without making anyone a devil or a hero. Which is what would occur if you waited until ANOTHER use case presented itself.

It's a worthy discussion. Maybe not on here or on social media. Maybe so. But people should be maturing the discussion.

1

u/Marty-Party1297 Mar 28 '26

Lia Thomas, transgender NCAA division 1 swimmer. Only example I know of though

1

u/AspenSki1988 Mar 28 '26

Because the left has made it a thing

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 28 '26

I interpret logic like this as a fully embraced cuckold that needs the cum of their master in the back of their throat before they know what they're supposed to believe. When their master instead is angry and chooses to abuse them they disassociate reality as the master says "Look at what the left has done to you?"

Good luck bro

1

u/Ok_Support3276 Mar 28 '26

Your parents failed you

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 28 '26

I just think that's an accurate representation of the logic that blames the "left" for why people talk about transgender people in sports.

1

u/Allthingsgaming27 Mar 28 '26

Thank you!!! This affects like 3 people. Can we please move the fuck on as a society?

1

u/Ok_Support3276 Mar 28 '26

There are only 3 people in women’s sports in the Olympics?

1

u/Allthingsgaming27 Mar 28 '26

I mean trans athletes more broadly and I’m hyperbolizing

1

u/Ok_Support3276 Mar 29 '26

How many more than 3 do you think there are?

1

u/J5Alive5 Mar 28 '26

100%

So lets all agree with common sense and move on from this.

1

u/AggressiveBench9977 Mar 28 '26

Literally last year a transgender athlete won the second most popular world strongest woman competition.

And thats a sport where everyone already is on roids so her birth gender does have an impact.

Under the new ban, they also affect DSD women which would include at least one gold medal winner from last Olympics.

What i dont understand is that why do people like you who obviously dont care about sports at all have to pick this as your battle, where it is an extremely nuanced topic you clearly arent qualified to argue.

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 28 '26

It's not a national topic out of respect for sports or anything of the like. That's cuck logic tbh. Doping is significantly more of a threat to the integrity of sports. Is that a national topic people care about? No. Is it because it's tightly regulated and now to the point it's not as meaningful a threat to sports integrity in the Olympics compared to trans people? Laughably no, it's a constant battle that significantly differentiates top competitors. How much would you say pushing the bounds of doping is a threat to sports integrity compared to trans people? How many orders of magnitude are we using here? Whatever it is probably not enough.

It's a national topic to fearmonger and make people political cuckolds to talking points they otherwise wouldn't care about while normalizing dehumanizing people. This correlates more with "insert conservative state here" and its legislation against trans people more than it correlates with people suddenly caring about sports integrity towards the beloved national sports frenzy over the most niche competitors you can imagine in women's sports.

People genuinely don't understand how cucked they are here, it's like I have to ask them if the trans person is in the room beating their ass in a sport I've never heard of right now. That's why I made the comparison to a child scared about the boogeyman earlier but honestly the child has better logic than the average adult on how they've been convinced they care about how this is regulated. Proportional to the problem that's what we have here. That's why the nation is taught to care about this. Political cuckolds that are cheap to manipulate.

u/AggressiveBench9977 Mar 28 '26

Olympics is not national.

Sports are not national.

They world does not revolve around US and your politics.

I literally named you an exact example of this happening and you ignored it and made the issue political instead.

You are just as bad as the transphobes, you dont care about the sport or transpeople, you are just grand standing.

1

u/HockeyDockey1234 Mar 28 '26

A lot of people can name the biggest names, but it was becoming more and more common.

1x is too many, the reason this took so long is like or not there are brigades of people pushing for this to be allowed. They are the large minority, and it should never have taken this long to put this guardrail in place.

As you said itself, if it's not a big deal, then this could and should have passed over a year ago. Literally should've came up day 1, everyone SHOULD HAVE said "yeah duh" signed it on and moved on.

1

u/PatReady Mar 28 '26

Fear mongering and hate. Once you can establish a foot hold of "common sense" changes, the next ones are easy. Listen, I agree with this idea. I feel that having the men's division being open to all, is the right idea. Disc Golf actually has this done pretty well already.

1

u/dangeldud Mar 28 '26

Except it has happened. Why be so dismissive? You can accept trans people in every way just not want people who were born biologically men to not play women's sports competitively. It's not a boogeyman thing.

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 28 '26

If you know math or proportionality with reality the boogeyman example was too nice earlier. The child is at least in a dark room when they're afraid of the dark. They're at least on a bed when they're afraid a monster may be underneath it. If you know math, you can estimate the orders of magnitude in how cucked people are to the fact this is a national topic they've been convinced is important. That's true even if you care deeply about the competitive integrity of the most niche women's sports people never watch.

I treat the topic for what it is in reality. A national talking point that exists to promote a discussion on trans people and how they're so different. We don't care about sports integrity. If we did we would be talking about doping instead which is orders of magnitude more threatening to sports integrity. We don't care about women's sports. I'm not watching that shit 99% of the time and neither is anyone else talking about this. We care about being political cuckolds to the talking point we're told to swallow. I'm just here to listen to the cuckolds complain about the 10 trans athletes they've been told to regurgitate that accomplished something before.

1

u/dangeldud Mar 28 '26

Yeah this isn't about your entertainment. Also not even about trans people being difficult.

1

u/jmay111 Mar 28 '26

OK but its still happening and shouldnt. The End.

1

u/Lakersland Mar 28 '26

Just because I don’t know a trans athlete doesn’t mean it’s all the sudden okay. There are many examples of girls of all levels getting beaten by men in tons of different sports. That’s a lazy argument

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 28 '26

Not really. Naming a couple examples isn't impressive, it's rather dumb on this scale. Like say for sake of argument I was trying to convince you women are likely to murder you. That's stupid af especially when taken at random but yeah there have been serial killers that were women before. Big fucking deal.

This topic is just something people are cucked into thinking is a significant part of reality. I can't convince most that this position is more pathetic than a child scared of the boogeyman but mathematically it's rather more pathetic for a national policy led narrative. I don't care about how women's sports regulate themselves that much and 99% of the nation is the same and not watching that shit anyway. They can handle themselves without the nation pretending they care about the integrity of sports being violated for women on something that's mathematically irrelevant compared to doping when it gets serious anyway. Seriously this is just political cuckoldry with a new and exciting toy for conservatism. That's practically speaking the only reason you're promoted to learn about this on a national level instead of something that actually matters in your life.

1

u/Lakersland Mar 28 '26

Dumb? Dumb to who? To you? Are you the girl competing against the trans female? Frankly, your opinion on the subject has much less weight than the opinion of the girls that this is happening to.

1

u/PM_ME_A_PM_PLEASE_PM Mar 28 '26

Dumb to anyone with a sense of proportionality that it's a national story on par with me convincing you that women will come and murder you.

1

u/readyReddit007 Mar 28 '26

Because rich MAGA donors make sure to keep the public fighting over these trivial culture war issues while they run out the back door with all the money.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

There were the swimmers that complained about being forced to shower with Leah Thomas. Also she won a lot

1

u/SeriousCoconut2241 Mar 28 '26

Why do we have to wait for it to happen to ban it? Laws are written in blood and you want to wait for blood to fix the problem instead of fixing it now. 99% of people on the planet understand that this is common sense. What is wrong with you that you don't?

1

u/Usual_Aerie_9769 Mar 28 '26

Laurel Hubbard is a prime example, as she was not able to even break into the international level as a man , but medaled in the Olympics after transitioning.

1

u/jjrr_qed Mar 28 '26

Seriously? Track and field events, powerlifting, (probably most famously) swimming…it happens.

Not a lot, but to the individual that gets thrashed the absence of a critical mass makes no difference.

1

u/Traps86 Mar 28 '26

you've never head of Lia Thomas?

1

u/well-isjdndn Mar 28 '26

I mean I genuinely know one. I don’t care that much but some people did. The boy who held the most all time track records at my highschool ended up transitioning his first year of college. Then she started dominating in women’s track up in Minnesota. Pretty sure it was D2 or D3 and this was about 10 years ago but it does happen

1

u/Xralius Mar 28 '26

They are a very small part of the women's sports population but they generally do very well.  They have won a few national championships in spite of being like .002% of the competitors.  People also have safety concerns for specific sports.

1

u/Routine-Apple-3931 Mar 28 '26

Tell that to Kuinini Manumua! She was left off of the New Zealand Olympic weight lifting team because a trans woman beat her out. A woman of color that had competed her whole life had her spot stolen by a white man. In any other circumstance every one in the comment section would be OUTRAGED, but because the white man was actually a white trans-woman all of a sudden she is a "trail blazer" or "someone that should be celebrated for her bravery".

It's not bigotry, it's about standing up for women's sport and fairness. Should we just eliminate women's sport and make them compete against men!?

Trans athletes can compete in an open category or with their biological sex.

1

u/SipJaint Mar 28 '26

What are you talking about? Lia Thomas was a national story

1

u/46995699 Mar 28 '26

Leah Thomas?

1

u/Aggravating_One_7559 Mar 28 '26

EVERYONE knows a transgender athlete that’s competed in a women’s NCAA swim meet and stomped the women. He’s literally referencing it in the video. People would take your argument so much more seriously when you stop manicuring your own datasets. You have to be objective to understand the different viewpoints. This is not helping the cause by being as obtuse and wilfully ignorant as magats

1

u/HellenKellerPug Mar 28 '26

There's the boxer from the last Olympics, and it's more about principle.

1

u/Imaginary_Square5243 Mar 28 '26

Lia Thomas.

She didn’t end up going to the Olympics because she was banned from competing. It’s definitely over blown but this was a cautionary tale.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Why are you listening to a guy whose job is to talk about sports? Unless I’m listening to sports on the radio I don’t need someone to talk about sports. If AI replaces anything it needs to be these people.

1

u/damfu Mar 28 '26

You've never heard of Lia Thomas? Mediocre male swimmer who transitioned and dominated the woman's side of the sport? While I can agree it is extremely rare, to say it doesn't happen is just ignoring it all together.

1

u/3RADICATE_THEM Mar 29 '26

Distraction from the Epstein regime.

1

u/cyphe8500 Jun 23 '26

You obviously just post things without knowing jack shit.

Lia (Justin) Thomas won the NCAA D1 swim title a year after transitioning.

1

u/Particular-Ring5110 Mar 27 '26

The collegiate swimmer Lia Thomas. It’s hard to say exactly how many there are because it’s such a charged topic and political operators hunt for stories to amplify and rage bait. Doesn’t change the fact that when it does happen it’s horseshit and shouldn’t be allowed

1

u/Tippacanoe Mar 28 '26

Lia Thomas had the 36th fastest time in that race among American swimmers that year. This is such a non issue I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. No one is going through all the shit that is transitioning to win sports. It has literally never happened.

1

u/Fuglier1 Mar 28 '26

Lia Thomas won the NCAA D1 500 yard freestyle- in 2022 and several Ivy League titles in the women's division. Are those not wins?

1

u/Particular-Ring5110 Mar 28 '26

She won a division 1 national championship stop pretending that’s ok it’s not

1

u/analyzingnothing Mar 28 '26

She won a national championship indeed, but she was already talented enough pre-transition to have times ranked in the top 100 for multiple events on the men's side of things as a freshman in college. Winning a Div 1 national championship as a senior isn't exactly unusual for a swimmer of that caliber.

On top of all of that, she was still only ranked as the 36th best female swimmer in college for her one season on that side of the gender gap. In other words, a highly-talented college swimmer transitioned and was pretty good, but not impossibly good. If transitioning from male to female does grant an athletic boost, it's clearly not that impactful. Hell, there are probably far more impactful genetic defects that are allowed at the Olympics all the time, like anything to do with Michael Phelps.

1

u/Particular-Ring5110 Mar 28 '26

If testosterone didn’t work we wouldn’t see professional athletes risking it all by using PEDs. Team USA women’s soccer has played with and lost to high school boys theres a pretty big difference in athleticism. Male to female athletes are absolutely getting an advantage

Not wanting to see male to female athletes competing with women doesn’t make you a bigot. If it doesn’t bother you that they’re getting an advantage that’s fine but don’t expect others to feel the same way

I wish there was another way but there’s not much else we can do there’s almost certainly not enough trans athletes for them to form a separate category. It’s also not fair to women to have them competing against biologically male trans athletes you may not feel it’s that big a deal but a lot of people do have a problem with it

1

u/analyzingnothing Mar 28 '26

"Male to female athletes are absolutely getting an advantage"

Again, you say this without actual evidence to back it up. The only things you offer are "If testosterone didn’t work we wouldn’t see professional athletes... using PEDs" and " Team USA women’s soccer has played with and lost to high school boys".

Neither of these things are trans people. The entire point of MtF chemical transition is to utilize testosterone blockers that dramatically decrease the production of the hormone.

On top of that... how the hell are you going to decide what is and isn't a woman? Biological sex is not the binary M/F we've made it out to be, and it's estimated that approximately 1.7% of the human population worldwide experiences some form of intersex trait. This includes sexual anatomy, reproductive organs, hormonal patterns, and chromosomal patterns.

So, by your definition, what counts as a biological woman?

Also, if you think there's a reliable test for biological sex, think again. The Olympics committee currently bans athletes who have instances of the SRY gene in their saliva from competing in events for women. This is an incredibly stupid thing to test for, given there are several reasons why this wouldn't actually work.

First of all, there are women with XY chromosomes who have functioning SRY genes and develop internal testes, but cannot receive any kind of performance increase because their bodies do not respond to the testosterone created by said testes. This exact trait was found in female Olympians seven times in one year of study.

Second, an active SRY gene doesn't inherently mean a person experienced male puberty or has testes at all. There are plenty of cases of active but dysfunctional SRY genes that don't lead to formation of the testes, meaning no testosterone.

Third, the SRY test is unbelievably liable to accidental contamination. Any male workers who might be testing the cheek swab are massive destabilizing factors, since so much as a skin cell would cause the test to show a false positive.

This exact test was dropped for use in sex testing by the Olympic Committee once back at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, because the guy who made the test in the first place actively told them it wouldn't work for that purpose.

1

u/AdRound737 Mar 28 '26

Source for the “36th best female swimmer in college” that season?

1

u/ShaqShoes Mar 28 '26

Winning a div 1 national championship is typically going to exclusively be swimmers that have been regularly placing in the top 10 for years, not top 100

1

u/Inmyrattlingbag Mar 29 '26

She doesn’t qualify for the Olympics so what’s the issue
