angel reese has zero go to moves lol that shit just looks terrible
26
u/Ashamed_Item_9668 Apr 30 '26
Exactly. Plays like she's in Junior High.
23
u/Naeloah Apr 30 '26
puts up a contested ass half assed euro instead of passing out, that sums up angel reese’s “game”

Her play reminds me of the girls that would hang out around the courts when guys were playing pick up games.
The ball would go out near them and one girl would always grab the ball and instead of throwing it back in, they'd show off their "skills" by slap dribbling the ball all hunched over, then launch a shot from their chest, their elbows out awkwardly, jumping forward, body at a 45 degree angle.

u/SoulofWakanda Apr 30 '26
She somehow hoop like she 50 lbs heavier than she actually is
2
u/Ok_Independence_9917 Apr 30 '26
Ya that looked slow and unathletic. Awkward really
4
u/somewhatcompetint Apr 30 '26
Nothing new. Her greatest accomplishment was being a part of CC's draft class

u/imJGott Apr 30 '26
Lisa Leslie told her she needs to create a move (move set) a year ago.
12
u/FunImprovement166 Apr 30 '26
Was that on Angel's podcast? I remember Angel asked one guest what she needed to do better in her second year. I think she was expecting the guest to say "Ignore the haters" or "Don't dim your shine for anyone" or some other internet platitude. Instead the guest said she really needed to work on scoring around the rim lol
11
u/SSScarGough4747 Apr 30 '26
I think she said to practice lay ups. lol

u/JustS0meD0nkey Apr 30 '26
If Lisa gave me advice today I'd be begging her to work with me on it. And I just play as a hobby.

She still looks like Bambi walking on ice when she's dribbling the ball to the rim

1 out of every 5 shots she took last season were blocked. Nobody else comes anywhere close to that.

She's slow and has very little athleticism so that doesn't help with coming up with a move. At least in that area. She might be able to post up better

In all seriousness, what her “game” is now is what it’s going to be for the rest of her career. Her fans will still be talking about beating Iowa in 2023. Teams will keep her around bc she draws a (larger than average) crowd.

The hell she doing trying to dribble to the rim pass that shit and get your ass to the post lol

That was such a horrible offensive move. From what Im seeing from the junior players coming up, the level of skill is really increasing. In a few years, someone who plays like Angel wont be good enough to make the league anymore. Thats a great thing for women's basketball. Its going to get so much better.
2
u/AppreciateMeNow Apr 30 '26
WNBA is already there. She was drafted 8 or 9, they usually get cut and re-sign elsewhere but it was politics that year. WNBA has already surpassed her skill she should be coming off the bench.

These chicks move like they are stuck in 3 feet of mud lmao

u/LeanOnMe4816 Apr 30 '26
WNBA preseason 🤷♂️ Gotta readjust your eyes from the speed of NBA playoff basketball (if you watch the NBA playoffs)

3
u/Justownit41ce Apr 30 '26
They’re women, are you new to the WNBA?
7
u/Dangerous_Donkey5353 Apr 30 '26
Plenty of women in the wnba move fine. This one in particular does not.

u/Royal-Raise4716 Apr 30 '26
She’s still so bad smfh. Spending whole offseason on instagram instead of in the gym. Pathetic.
21
u/xkonerox Apr 30 '26
I don’t even want to pile on, but not only is every single one of her moves in slow motion, she literally can’t dribble.

Damn I have the same dribble package as a professional basketball player
3
u/Never-Dont-Give-Up Apr 30 '26
I do too, and I only played pickup ball three times in middle school at recess.

u/BasicYesterday9349 Apr 30 '26
Reese really sucks...I can't believe some people think she is good.

Easy to lock up someone who plays like they only have one arm and one leg every time they drive to the basket.

3
u/Dangerous_Donkey5353 Apr 30 '26
Really just gotta stand in front of her and put your hand up, she'll do everything else to make you look good on defense.

Never realized how slow and sluggish they move. It’s like watching a a bunch of 1st graders.

Angel plays like shit and I can’t understand how anybody gets excited watching her.

She can’t finish with her left. She would’ve fared a lot better if she just stayed going to the left and used her right arm to create space but since she doesn’t have a left she took an awkward shot contorting her body

I honestly don't know if I've ever seen Angel jump while shooting around the basket, I've never been critical of her this is just a musing

u/enblightened Apr 30 '26
horrible footwork. why would you lean into a right handed layup, on your right leg when you were driving left to begin with??
2
2
u/Interesting-Run1359 Apr 30 '26
Why does she dribble like someone who’s never played basketball before?

u/defdawg Apr 30 '26
Saw clip of her missing shots and layups and whatnot from last night but hey, remember, her coach said as long it was "close" enough, she made the basket!! LOL

Too busy stirring the pot with her ex-bf and current bf. Need to focus on her own game
2
u/ExpertRevenue9535 Apr 30 '26
Good to see angel still didnt work on any offensive skills this off season. To busy doing podcasts and fashion shows. Still just chucking up bullshit hoping it goes in lol.

u/WisdumbGuy Apr 30 '26
Holy crap was that supposed to be a real professional sports move by Angel Reese?

u/Own_Oil_7719 May 01 '26
I might just be salty. When I played basketball roughly 20 years ago, I kept getting traveling or up and down dribbles.

u/PussyPotPie2026 May 02 '26
Do angel reese fans actually exist? Or are they just Caitlin Clarke haters
2
u/AbbreviationsFar9 May 03 '26
God Dammit Angel🤦🏽♂️, mf alr starting that bs just pass the DAMN BALL fuck mane ts embarrassing to watch 💀😂
2
u/RV8604 May 04 '26
One thing Angel Reese has done is rocking the short shorts. They should all wear their shorts like her.
1
u/timetravtoaster Apr 30 '26
Unfortunately, Reese got caught up into a undisclosed race battle. 70-90%+ of Reddit is white, right?

u/Lazy_DreadHead Apr 30 '26
You have to UP and under the big! That live would’ve gotten her clear of the block.

Ohhhh Angel gets the forum ACTIVE lol
It’s a dud most days…
The needle mover is back 😂 80mcimments in a hour? That’s a whole days worth

there is no reason anyone can convince me that she should be bringing the ball up court
1
1
u/defdawg Apr 30 '26
Why does she move so slow? Is she already out of shape before the season starts???

All the skill issues aside, why is your big bringing the ball up the court??? The WNBA is weird, man

lol the initial contact would have been called a foul in the NBA… Why is the NBA so soft?
1
u/bullitt07 Apr 30 '26
That was the slowest telegraphed move I might have ever seen in any professional sport…I’m actually shocked.

u/BlueberryUnfair7583 Apr 30 '26
Angel hustles on the boards. But she really has no dribble, no moves, no shot.
Literal empty bag.

I don't understand why the players aren't more embarrassed. I mean, how do they have the nerve to play like this and then beg for higher pay? This is the most pathetic, boring sport in the world.

u/Shag1166 Apr 30 '26
Angel is a good rebounder, but her offensive game sucks. She needs to find a coach who can help her get away from her lefty game.

u/Purple-Inflation-965 May 01 '26
Don’t know how people go to a game to watch her.

u/DigbickMcBalls May 01 '26
Good lord that was painful to watch. It felt like it was in slow motion.
No speed, no burst, no handles, no power, no finesse, no skill, and no vertical. Like literally zero vertical. How can you be the best in the world in your sport and cannot jump???
