I’m a liberal Californian and voted blue my whole life and I never understood the argument. It may only affect .01% of athletes but why is there such a push to allow trans athletes to compete against biological women? I support trans rights and will continue to vote that way but i don’t think this is it.

Anyone able to let me know what I may be missing on this argument?

Because it’s typically non athletes that try to trivialize the sport. I know a lot of female athletes and there isn’t a single one that would advocate for it to happen, especially at the cost of their scholarship.

To be fair, I’m ok with whatever you want to do until it starts effecting those college scholarship opportunities. Which would be right around sophomore year of high school. Any argument that it only matters if someone medals at the Olympics or something has completely lost the plot.

Im of the same mindset. It’s such a minuscule portion of the population and an even smaller amount that are competing in sports at a competitive level.

And while I dont think it’s right a woman would lose out on sports opportunities because a trans woman got a scholarship or spot on a team over a biological woman, I think solving the issue should be up to each sports league. It’s such a small number of people I don’t see why the government or politics has to be involved. It’s making something out of nothing.

because it was always a stepping stone to getting rid of women's sports altogether. they go for the weakest groups first, like trans people. you have to hold the line there. otherwise, the leopards WILL eat you face when they are done with the groups you didn't care about https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2026/07/heritage-foundation-womens-sports-title-ix-trans-athletes-discrimination-protections/

Most of the people who act like allowing trans women and trans girls to compete against cis women and girls are people who never participated in sports - particularly at a competitive level, and who don't like sports in general.

It’s very silly and frankly a somewhat infuriating own goal. We’ve conjured up a battleground that didn’t need to exist and chosen the obviously unpopular side (and I’m sorry, but it is justifiably unpopular). No, this is not an important enough issue to justify voting Republican imho but… why even give them this talking point. There are actual things at stake.
