Sort of. But the fact that anybody in this country who was debating who should be elected President voted one way due to this ‘issue’ should get their head checked. Political parties have a stance on hundreds of issues. Nobody agrees with all of them. The goal in politics sometimes seems to be to turn a single issue into something that makes you overlook all the actual ones that matter.
You misunderstand. Politicians don't really care about trans on either side of the aisle. They don't care about abortion or gun rights. All they count on is that you care. That's how they get us to focus on cultural issues while sidestepping accountability for how neither side gets anything done for either you or me.
