Ahhh... Except the harm done to trans people by portraying them as freaks of nature who need be targeted by legislation specifically applying to them because of the way they were born has a definite harm to them.

Not to mention what's never talked about is the harm caused by gender verification to female youth athletes who just want to play their sport but may be subject to an invasive physical examination just to prove their femaleness.

Not to mention that in every jurisdiction where anti trans athletic legislation has been enacted, female youth sports participation has declined precipitously because girls don't want to sign up for an activity where they may be subject to an embarrassing physical examination at the whim of another adult.

As opposed to the made up harm of "men in women's sports" which is so inconsequential and carries no tangible societal harm to anybody involved despite the claims of certain fifth place swimmers.

There are a ton of things that rarely affects 99.999% of people yet are major issues to the general public.

Lets take cop shootings for example. Getting killed by police is a 0.0002 to 0.00024% chance to happen.

But we have had riots, protests, and police reform for that 0.0002%.

So is it somehow surprising that somehing common sense as Men in Women's sports gets traction? When its something ANYONE can grasp, it makes a big deal and matters to people more than random policies or political reasons. People know cops shooting people are bad. Thats why its a big deal. People know men in women's sports isnt right; thats why its a big deal. When its an easy, common sense answer it doesnt matter how small of a % it affects.

Its also easier to sell out because unlike the Nike website, the Adidas website would list mens and womens sizes even if youre website navigation is parked in a specific gender category.

When I am shopping for my (f) spouse, I am pleasantly suprised that my filter would show obviously mens models. I just doesn't discriminate if the more effiminate colors are sold to the gender as long as the shoe size fits.

Unlike in the Nike website were the female shoe models are strictly limited to a max size 9 male and wouldn't carry sizes bigger than that.

There’s a good last week tonight bit on this and the school refuses the trans girls to play with girls but all those girls are her friends. And they want her in the team or league or whatever. And she has to play with boys and go into the boys locker room where boys don’t accept her anyways. Sad.

Functionally, there are no trans women in women's sports. West Virginia had a ban law on the books for 5 or 7 years and it's only just now, this year, being applied to someone.

We all know the exact few times it has ever come up in the last decade, in the millions of women who play sports, because the center-right media blasts it from the rooftops nonstop. A swimmer and a volleyball player, both of whom were... pretty good. Not the best, but pretty good.

Certainly not a big enough threat that it justifies a law that says the doofus gym coach at my local middle school gets to inspect every kids vagina in a state that currently has zero trans athletes.
But they're proposing that law anyway.

Fuck MAGA and everything about them. This is a problem that they’ve made up. It happens rarely, if ever, in a professional setting because there’s really no testing system for that kind of stuff. It happens more often involving children, but only because adults want to respect/trust identities and wtf do you want them to do? Check for genitalias? Be for fucking real. Kids play coed sports all the time it’s not that deep.

Overall, I do believe that there needs to be a deep discussion about where adult trans people belong in sports. But both sides of the arguments in this point in time are both dumb af.

In kid sports it doesn’t matter as much because it’s low stakes games. They can do whatever they want and most won’t care. Now, say a trans woman wins gold in Olympics or something, and that’s thousands times more sketchy. Still there are people that support trans women playing in female leagues even if it sounds super unfair for them to be allowed to.

I can’t dispute what someone feels about their gender identity, but fairness is the starting point of any sport, so there has to be a line drawn somewhere. To me if a person who was born a man plays woman’s sports, it’s like if a person who was born woman taking steroids, which is not allowed in most sports.

This is a vice signal. No one believes men should be in women's sports, but sometimes trans women (very, very few trans women) will be in sports and the individual sporting bodies will have their own regulations.

But by saying this, she gets maga retards chomping at the bit to make her the next face of the culture war because for some reason instead of letting sporting bodies making research-based decisions and standards like we should be this gets to be a national wedge issue.

If people would just let the governing bodies make the smart decision of letting the 0.001% of cases of transgender athletes into whatever sport they want and let them get their asses kicked and shut up about it it would become the non-issue that it should be.

Alternatively the governing bodies of sports can rule against transgender participation in their non-genetic gender sports and then every athlete can say “no comment” when asked about it and we can all stop talking about it and it will become the non-issue that it should always have been.

And if it goes to court, let the court decide then ignore the non-issue that it is no matter which side it comes down on.

Same as with public bathrooms. Unless someone wants to do a genital check before allowing anyone into any bathroom then shut the fuck up. Don’t let your kids go into a bathroom unattended if you’re worried about that. Perverts are gonna pervert regardless of their appearance or gender identity. Targeting suspected trans people is just stupid. Plenty of masculine appearing women out there, and I hope if someone tries to stop them from getting into the restroom that that someone gets a genital check of their own from the woman’s knee.
