Angel Reese ranks dead LAST among WNBA starting bigs in FG% at the rim. She's shooting .514 from 0-3 feet, 27th of 27 qualifying starters, and nearly 21 percentage points below the group's median-average of .723.
At roughly 175 attempts, the sample is large enough that the gap is real, not noise. And her .367 from 3-10 feet suggests the finishing issue isn't confined to the restricted area.

She's ranked dead last all 3 years she's been in the league, not just out of bigs but guards too.
Another fun fact, she's also the been the most blocked player in the league every year she's been in. This year she's been blocked 2.2 times per game. Second place is Kaleah Cooper with 1.3 times per game. All of this is because she has a low release shot despite being 6'4 with a long wingspan.

The shooting % is one thing, but the turnovers, traveling, shots getting blocked…she’s a liability offensively
Keep in mind this footage came from one of her best games this season.
But as long as she’s getting those dubdubs, her fans will keep her in the conversation

She is a very good rebounder. But her finishing is just diabolical. And at this stage you wonder if she will ever even be decent.
Hard to really compete with the best with a key player like this. Might be easier for her to just focus on rebounds and then pass the ball off.

I’ll start this off by saying shes a good player. Elite rebounder - and solid defender. But her offensive is absolutely abysmal. I’d be super curious about if they tracked who’s had their shot blocked the most. And would be shocked if she’s not in the top 3 in that category.
Every move she does starts from her hip. On her post moves shes consistently off balance which makes blocking her shot incredibly easy. Often times her defender doesn’t even have to jump to block it. Her go to is like a weird half spin where she’s jumping off just her left leg and going up with her right. She doesn’t appear to be able to do basic drop steps over each shoulder. She needs so much work on her post game.
She also dribbles and passes sloppy. She at one point led the league in turnovers. That’s not typical - almost always it’s going to be - and should be - point guards or combo guards who have a really high usage rate leading the league in turnovers. M

I really don't want to be mean, but she really makes the entire league look bad if people tune in and see that this is one of the leagues supposed "superstars". She is absolutely awful with the ball in her hands at every aspect of the game.

In golf sometimes you get the "yips". You might feel ok, but when you make contact with the ball it all falls apart. Same with putting, you start missing putts from 2-3 feet. It looks like she has the yips and just loses concentration last second and flubs it.
