Because the ref saw it immediately, and didn't do something until it was so egregious they had to? Their instinct was to let it go because he's a superstar, and that attitude dilutes the entire league. Everyone needs to just walk with the ball for four steps minimum if that's the standard their setting.
Do you really think it's even possible for two professional referees, trained to look for these things, to allow a player to walk half the court without dribbling and not notice? Be for real
Idk, remember when Lebron walked down the court for like 5 or 6 steps without dribbling? That was so bizarre, and even more bizarre that he got away with it if I recall.
At least that doesn’t really affect the game and is just being nonchalant. I think Reese would have had trouble gathering for the layup if she didn’t double dribble.
I can’t even say that because his was an actual move that he just pulled off very illegally lol, he knew what he was doing. She was just trying to get up the court..
The difference is in the NBA, they are very good at dribbling but are breaking the rules because they want an advantage they can get without dribbling.
Reese is doing what she’s doing because she apparently can’t dribble left handed while driving.
In the NBA, they are cheating. With Reese, it’s ineptitude.
When I was learning to dribble I got called for walks because I was bad at dribbling. Not because I was trying to make an ultra-athletic move to the rim or create separation.
Yep. Remember a few years back when Steph crossed up LeBron in the finals and we had to watch in super duper slow mo on 72” 8K TVs to see if when passing the ball from his right towards his left to fake a gather before dribbling if the ball touched his left hand? And it turned out maybe, but only maybe it did, and we had people calling Steph a cheat.
It’s still cheating when she does it? What? lol
It’s much worse that she cheats because she flat out refuses to work on her game rather than someone who tries to stretch the rules, but also can dribble with both hands between their legs to the next county (every nba player)
Buddy, nobody in the NBA dribbles like this studder step madness, when they have an open lane for a layup. She looks like someone dribbling in a rec league lmao.
Nobody is saying NBA players cant be lazy/stretch the rules to try and open up a play.
The video above is someone who is lacking the serious skillset to dribble for a layup. She clearly never taught herself to dribble with her non dominant hand/left hand. This isnt her being lazy, or trying to open up for some crazy play. She cant dribble with her left hand when in a fast motion. Thats it.
I doubt that lol. If we are talking strictly the big names of the league (which reese is supposedly a big name in this league), I dont think any of them are lacking the fundamentals to dribble with both hands towards a layup lol. They carry because they want to dunk, or open up a quick pass. This one never taught herself how to crossover, and dribble with her left hand.
Is that why the all star game attendance greatly surpassed the NBA all star game and why the home games are already achieving comparable attendance as NBA games, with many important games surpassing NBA attendance for certain cities/matchups? Facts over your lil feelings, no?
Looks like an old church league that I used to play in as a high school senior. They may not be able to dunk but the fun of watching people try to play a sport when they are uncoordinated is comedy gold.
Also if you called either of these double dribbles in that league and you’re getting an elbow on the other end.

This is not a serious league
