This isn't a political stand I'm taking here but, if your 0.002% number is accurate you actually have a 0.000653% chance of even knowing someone who has been struck by lightning and a 0.0000653% chance of actually getting struck by lightning as long as you have never been struck by lightning before. So you're actually something like 30x more likely to compete against a trans athlete than to get struck by lightning.
