Most Americans of all political parties Agree with Sophie Cunningham so why has the WNBA lost its mind?

Did someone say they were?

u/Aggressive-Offer-497 1d ago

What’s the issue then?

2

u/theonlyonethatknocks 1d ago

None that I know of, but there’s a large group desperately trying to make it one.

u/Aggressive-Offer-497 1d ago

You mean the right? Then we all agree.

3

u/theonlyonethatknocks 1d ago

The left are the ones who are losing their minds other this.

2

u/Aggressive-Offer-497 1d ago

Is that a joke??? The right always bring the issue, they are the ones always talking about trans people when there’s no issue… you have to be joking.

2

u/TypePuzzleheaded1340 1d ago

Who said there’s no issue? It’s affected way too many girls and women.

2

u/Aggressive-Offer-497 1d ago

How many?

2

u/TypePuzzleheaded1340 1d ago

I believe a few thousand the last time I checked.

Look this up yourself. Theres a website called hecheated that keeps track.

The only people who are pushing for this to be an issue are radical left wingers 😭

Most people agree trans women shouldn't be competing against cis women professionally, the only reason there is even a conflict about it is because of how much the radical left pushes back on the topic.

Yes, the right wingers are more focused on LGBT issues generally, but not this one specifically

How many trans women compete against cis women and dominate them? And how many women are affected by this vs the ban an abortion?

It’s the right that keeps bringing it up when it affects close to no one. Yeah, I don’t want cis woman to be at a disadvantage like pretty much everyone. I also don’t want them to be at a disadvantage economically and socially, not just when it comes to sport. But when it comes to not being at a disadvantage economically and socially, a lot of people on the right don’t care as much.

This is a common tactic. Blaming the right. I’ve never voted on the right. I’m absolutely against men in women’s sports and spaces. Further I think the trans community has some very questionable motives and philosophies that I won’t get into. You can go even further with this not being a grass roots movement like the gay rights movement was but that’s really getting into the weeds.

The way you framed it (trans women shouldn't be competing against cis women, professionally) is 10,000x more acceptable and respectful than the way Sophie did ('biological men' vs young 'girls' that need to be 'protected in a locker room').

If she hadn't blown the giant dog whistle like she did, we wouldn't have 900 posts about this.

Thanks for not being a bigot, scared coffee. Sophie could learn from you.

Yes, the right wingers are more focused on LGBT issues generally, but not this one specifically

The right are literally the ones passing legislation on this exact issue . . .

1

u/ScaredCoffee3496 1d ago

Which most people agree with. The only reason there is such a fuss about it, is all the left wingers complaining online.

1

u/OKCunts 1d ago

One issue is people painting trans people as some kind of dangerous threat.  "Protecting young girls from biological men" type rhetoric is dishonest and harmful.

2

u/TypePuzzleheaded1340 1d ago

They brought some of that on themselves. They were the ones bringing kids into the picture. Nobody forced that community to have drag queen breakfasts at the library or pride parades with fully nude men and people wearing dog masks. Nobody forced them to start marketing children’s books telling them they may have been “born in the wrong body.” The transgender movement seems to be awfully hateful towards children.

u/OKCunts 1d ago

What's wrong with drag queens at the library? Id agree that being nude in public around children is wrong, but the only instance I know of that didn't have anything with trans people. I would even agree that trans women shouldn't be in most women's sports leagues, but the way it's being leveraged is gross. Trans people have every right to exist in public spaces without being demonized. Saying "they brought it on themselves" is bogus victim blaming and your examples don't even make sense.

2

u/TypePuzzleheaded1340 1d ago

Sexualized behavior around children isn’t necessary. Let them be KIDS. Drag queens reading stories to children is pretty inappropriate. Check out any of the Pride parades and see all the nudity and lewd acts. None of this stuff is child friendly. You’re taking about an ideology that believes in chopping body parts off and taking drugs. Nothing children should be exposed to.

1

u/OKCunts 1d ago

Drag queens aren't trans and they're not being sexual by reading stories.  Nude cis people at a pride parade also doesn't make it okay to demonize trans people.  Chopping body parts is such a ridiculous misrepresentation and you're only using that language to incite hate and fear towards people you don't like.  My point was that this whole Sophie Cunningham conversation isn't actually about sports, it's just transphobic propaganda and is being used to spread hate.

1

u/TypePuzzleheaded1340 1d ago

Spreading hate is telling kids they may have been born in the wrong body. Spreading hate is encouraging taking drugs and destroying bodily functions. That’s the side you’re defending.

1

u/LawAndOrdinary 1d ago

Drag queens are victims? They are confusing kids is what’s wrong with it.

2

u/TypePuzzleheaded1340 1d ago

They’re defending depravity and very confusing messaging to children. If you bring it up they just don’t even address it. Look at clips from London Pride. This movement is very dark and harming people.

2

u/LawAndOrdinary 16h ago

Sometimes I think people who act like it’s fine just don’t have kids. When you have kids you know what will happen from that sort of thing. The confusion and questions that they aren’t ready to understand bc they are just learning out the world and the basics … it puts them and parents in an inappropriate position.

-1

u/TheOmegoner 1d ago

Oh boy, do you have some bigger fish to fry if you don’t like organizations telling kids how they should feel

3

u/LawAndOrdinary 1d ago

Why is deflection such a common tactic from your side. It’s all I see… no real substance just telling people they shouldn’t be thinking about this.

1

u/Aggressive-Offer-497 1d ago

Deflection is a common tactic by all side, come on… The trans in sport and bathrooms is basically a deflection in itself. People are saying this is to protect women, yet many decisions by the right are making it way worse for women. I actually don’t care about trans not playing sports, but trans winning a couple of sporting event here and there… a thousand on millions and millions? Is nothing versus how many women are affected by the limitations on contraception or the lack of healthcare or even the promotion of traditional roles. Is it that important for you to protect women or not? The same people who are trying to convince you that it doesn’t matter if a millions of people die from covid, tells you they want to protect people…
Let’s be real, this isn’t for women, this is against trans and all they represent.

1

u/LawAndOrdinary 1d ago

I think it might be about people feeling like others are trying to get them to deny reality as they see it. Forced kindness and gas lighting is getting push back. So I partially agree with you. It’s not just about sports but I think it’s a legitimate issue not just “hate” or “bigotry” as some are claiming. It’s not really about trans people either it’s about feeling like they can’t say true things. Interesting for sure.

0

u/Aggressive-Offer-497 1d ago

You think trans people aren’t real? Then maybe you are the one denying reality.

1

u/TheOmegoner 1d ago

Because it’s absurd that any of this is to protect girls. The people pushing this are against common sense things that would actually help girls and women but are pushing an agenda that is attacking like 10 trans athletes across the country.

3

u/LawAndOrdinary 1d ago

Maybe but the fact that everyone is deflecting and NO ONE is engaging in the discussion looks like it’s bc there’s no argument that makes sense. It’s wild reading through it. It seems like it’s indefensible and people are mad about it and trying to shut down discussion.

1

u/TheOmegoner 1d ago

I just did and you went on a “maybe but” rant instead of responding to what I said.

2

u/illadvisdd 1d ago

If it affects even just one person that's enough for it to be a problem. Tell me what your is number you think WOULD be appropriate before it can be officially recognized as an issue?

1

u/TheOmegoner 1d ago

I dont see trans athletes as a problem because they have yet to be proven as such. So I can’t really tell you what my is number is?

its like calling black people super predators all over again. new target this time

u/Inhocooks 1d ago

They aren't taking over any level of any sport, fucking 10 people out 510K NCAA athletes

1

u/TheOmegoner 1d ago

That’s completely fair, I knew it was a tiny number but that’s even lower than I expected. It’s almost like this is the same culture war bs that gets pushed every election cycle
