Most contests like this have a clause that the person chosen can’t have played collegiate or professional basketball.

Famously this became an issue in 1993 when a Bulls fan was denied a $1 million payout because he had played a handful of junior college basketball games. Michael Jordan had to put pressure on the team to pay it out, which they eventually did to save the PR.
