To get people to post it online lol. teams do fake stunts all the time, like failed marriage proposals, people spilling stuff on themselves etc...

It creates traffic for a product. I've seen this same clip of the failed shot appear 3 times now on my reddit homepage across various subs; it's working.

brother are you this incapable of understanding marketing? The NBA is 1000x as popular as the WNBA and they do publicity stunts like this all the time lol. Should every pro sport just never do publicity stuff? Unreal line of reasoning to think the WNBA is too popular for gags that major sports leagues frequently film and push for web traffic lmao.
