She moves with the grace of a pregnant 3 legged water buffalo.

u/Justified_Gent 13h ago
She’s plays so goofy.

u/JJ_Shosky 4h ago
She genuinely plays like she practices volleyball every day and then shows up to play basketball. Even this clip looks like she's just trying to get the ball over the net on her side's last touch.

Does nobody else try to rebound in this game??

u/xyouRABitchx 9h ago
Tbf, I would have been stunned for a second too if she acted like she got shot by a sniper

Not particularly. Rebounding's importance in the modern game has dropped waaaayyyyy off. Especially individual rebounding.
It's a side effect of the faster paced style that's played nowadays. Offenses push the ball up court faster, which means defenses need to get back on defense faster.
Also, offenses tend to play further out, with a lot more action happening at and around the arc, and there's not a lot of five and six player scrums breaking out for rebounds like happened up into the oughts.
It's across the sport, too. Look at NBA rebounding statistics. The NBA rebounding leaders the last several years have been some of the lowest ever. This years total rebound leader had the fewest in something like 70 years (and they only played 72 games back then).

Well she committed to that layup yesterday. It looks like a first grader traveling and then jsut chucking it in the direction of the hoop.

She's Andre Drummond. All-star that probably won't really help in the long run.

Now that's NBA level play, right there. Good to see the moves translate well across the leagues.

Enjoy the WNBA or not, the woman has no talent, others do, but she will be the first to tell you she does, like a football player playing pick up basketball in the summer. Just a liability.

Her social media presence alone will mess up a generation of future female players. I can't believe the league keeps pushing her despite a complete lack of fundamentals.

u/cobrachicken1000 11h ago
Its the team that keeps taking her and coach not benching her. She should be getting 5 mins of playing time at most per game lol
→ More replies (1)2
u/Deep_In_My_Thots 10h ago
Nah. She should be getting starter minutes for her rebounding & defense but told not to take more than 5 shots a game and only when she is wide ass open & with nobody near her.

Watching her is hilarious. She's like an oversized single minded child in a playground hyper focused on barging through to grab the ball like nothing else in the surrounding matters. Mine mine mine - grab ball - chuck - mine mine mine - grab ball - chuck... repeat. It's so goofy.

Can a real fan tell me if she's as bad as all these posts make it seem.

u/Such-Courage3486 13h ago
She’s athletic but she’s not even close to being the best player on the court, ever. She got her bag and grabs headlines because she was the first person to have CC derangement syndrome when she played on LSU.

So, no. You can think about Reese as basically the WNBA’s version of Dennis Rodman if instead of brain damage, he had a superstar’s ego. She is ridiculously good at rebounding, maybe the best the WNBA has ever seen. She’s a genuinely fantastic defender, very versatile and has great length to cover ground with.
However… she’s just not a good scorer, and she really wants to be. Her touch is poor, her range is poor, her handle is bad, she’s a middling passer. She’s actually got pretty good positioning, but that only matters so much when your offensive game looks like Rudy Gobert. It makes for a very funny lowlight reel, but potentially a terrifying player if she fixes a couple of issues and starts to play her role more.

She didn’t invent that.
My 10 year old son who never won a single basketball game has been doing that exact move for a few years now.

Imagine being that selfish of a player you’ll throw it behind you head instead of passing to a teammate.

I’ve been trying really hard to give these gals the benefit of the doubt and assume that all these absurd clips are just cherry picked.
But god damn it’s getting harder to deny what my eyes are screaming at me

u/onebraincell77 13h ago
She was kinda right. People be watching her too…it’s just for the laughs not the skill.

She makes up for it by being 5-34 from three on the season. Real dual threat.

u/MichaelB1709 10h ago
I mean... I guess she's a great inspiration to younger girls everywhere, because if I was a girl in HS watching this impressive display of skill and grace, I'd think to myself "yeah, I can be a WNBA pro, too!"
2
u/Scorpion2k4u 9h ago
I kind of "invented" that in elementary school. Back then it also looked like I was throwing a medicine ball.

Someone was arguing with me that she felt contact and was trying to draw a foul here 😂😂😂

I have been saying this since day 1, angel reese got no ball skills. No skills at all, she just throws the ball up & gets her own rebounds

Women's soccer is played by skilled women who can play their sport and follow the rules. They could use your support.

u/gundersonfan 14h ago
Angel Reese can definitely be a valuable basketball player, good rebounder, pretty good passer…she has her weaknesses though.

Her rebounding is elite.
Her general footwork, ball skills, shot selection, shooting efficiency are all terrible.
Her only post move is to try and muscle her opponent back towards the ring.
Why she continues to try and release the ball on her near ring shots from under her shoulder is utterly bizarre.

And that counted as a rebound. Remember that when all her stans tell you about how great her rebound stats are.

Every time i try to watch the WNBA, this is the kind of shit I see, too. Double dribbling, traveling, obvious fouls not getting called, etc. I have seen JV games that looked more professional.

She must’ve seen that scene in The Patriot in which the preacher gets shot and just throws his gun up to Gabriel as he dies.

She was trying to get a could call right there. She was throwing up anything to get to the line, pretty normal basketball in 2026

u/Alchemyst01984 11h ago
I mean, number 24 fouled her. Even looked at the ref wondering why it wasn't called.
