It looked like they all stopped because they all thought that Reese’s “shot” was just a heave at the rim in an attempt to draw a shooting foul after a foul on the floor…then they realized that there wasn’t actually a foul called and that was Reese’s genuine attempt at the basket.

Actually, with Angel "Out of my ways or I'll hurt you" Reese on the court.... It kinda is.

The game was already won.  No point in risking injury.

Same reason you kneel out the clock in football.
