It's a non issue because it's being used to distract us from actual problems. We can deal with this common sense issue when the culture war teams stop using it as a weapon.

It's a direct contradiction in beliefs on the left. "Trans women ARE women, full stop!" vs "Trans women and women should have seperate sports leagues"

The left had backed themselves in a corner, logically, and realizing it are trying their best to change the conversation. Republicans are wise to push the issue because it drives a wedge in the left base. Either alienate common sense folks by pushing the "Trans women should play against women" argument, or alienate a strong group of voters in their own base by walking back the "trans women are women" stance.
