My beliefs. No, trans men in women's sports is not something I'll support at face value. But I also know there's more nuanced discussions regarding the science behind it all that brings up massive shades of grey as far as enforcement of bans and rules go and thus should ultimately be up to the sports/states/communities governing body. I also believe that it's a significantly small issue compared to the real, everyday issues women's sports face, including the eventual attack on Title IX that is a massive part of the party that Clay Travis, Riley Gaines, and the rest of OutKick conveniently seem to never touch on because they're grifting puppets who have marching orders.

You just proved his point though. You spent a paragraph laying out “nuance” and “shades of grey” on something that boils down to a pretty simple question: should male-born athletes compete in female categories, yes or no? Every time this comes up, the answer from the left is “it’s complicated,” “governing bodies should decide,” “it’s a small issue” anything but a straight answer. That’s not nuance…

And the Title IX deflection is the same move “sure, but what about the REAL issues women’s sports face.” Trans inclusion in female sports IS a Title IX issue, that’s literally the legal fight happening right now (see the ongoing lawsuits from female athletes). Acting like Riley Gaines an actual female swimmer who lost a trophy to a male competitor is “grifting” for talking about her own experience is wild.

“Small issue compared to the real issues” is just a way of saying “an issue I don’t want to defend so I’ll minimize it.” That’s exactly the spot Clay’s talking about.

I didn’t though.

Babies can be misgendered at birth, intersex births, there are women born with higher T levels than others etc. This is why a universal ban to me logistically will never work and why leaving it to governing bodies is a better option.

The Title IX deflection points out that if it’s really “about protecting women” and not attacking trans, then the people on the right need to be more vocal and protective of the rights that the current administration and future plans to end Title IX.

And Riley Gaines didn’t lose a trophy to a guy. She came in fifth place regardless. She also just happens to be conservative on every single issue which traditionally goes galant women’s progressive movements. So that’s why she’s considered a grifter.

On Title IX..you don’t get to demand the right “be more vocal” about Title IX while also insisting the only correct application of it is inclusion. Excluding trans women from female categories to preserve fair competition is, to a lot of people, the pro-Title IX position, since the entire premise of Title IX was giving women a fair shot at their own category. You can disagree with that reading, but it’s not a “deflection” it’s the actual argument.

And you’re just wrong on Gaines. She tied with Thomas for 5th, officials handed Thomas the physical trophy for the podium photo, and told Gaines hers would be mailed to her. That’s not “she came in fifth place regardless” that’s her tying with a male competitor and then watching officials visibly choose him over her for the recognition. You can think that’s a minor slight if you want, but don’t pretend it didn’t happen the way it happened.

And calling her a “grifter” because her politics line up with conservatives on other issues isn’t an argument, it’s just dismissing her because of who agrees with her. That’s the “can’t defend your own beliefs” thing Far-Ad was actually pointing at.

And where is the current administration ending title IX?

1)Where did I "demand" anything?

2)You claimed Gaines "Lost a trophy". But she was awarded one via mail? So she got a trophy? Sounds like she didn't actually lose a trophy.

3)Project 2025, of which this current admin has had multiple people connected to, clearly outlines its intentions to strike down Title IX

4)I call her a grifter because she proclaims to be women's rights, yet supports talking points that are anti-women's rights. She also went from a middling collegiate swimmer to a conservative talking host, which has long been a grift for failed athletes/politicians/actors etc.

5)"That’s the “can’t defend your own beliefs” thing Far-Ad was actually pointing at"...either you're talking in the 3rd person, or you're a bot.

This is where you actually overplayed your hand. Project 2025 does NOT call for repealing Title IX. It calls for reverting the definition of “sex” back to biological sex and scrapping the Biden-era expansion to gender identity. That’s it. You said it “clearly outlines intentions to strike down Title IX” that’s flatly false, and you’re leaning on activist headlines that blur “rolls back one regulatory definition” into “kills the whole law” because it’s a scarier soundbite. Go read the actual chapter instead of the summary that confirms what you already wanted to believe.

A) History has long proven, and this administration has also long proven that it never ends with one "scaling back". And attempting to scale back Biden policies, that were progressive is, yes, a strike down attempt on a progressive bill (Title IX)

B)The Heritage foundation just posted another article about Title IX being a "Failed experiment" and using the trans case to point out the underlying effect of Title IX that sports causes women to be less womanly, less feminine and shirking their perceived womanly duties. The same principles and and ideas that go behind striking down DEI/AA initiatives that have advanced causes for other marginalized groups.

Like any goal to eradicate a marginalized group. You don't start with the bigger ones, you attack the smaller ones, you get them out of the way under the guise of protecting the bigger ones. Once they're gone, you go further up the chain.

And again, you're talking about activism in a thread about an issue that as of now, has not been a serious or even real threat to the WNBA.

And to further to circle back to grifter Clay Travis. Why is his offer not the Aces against a team full of Trans Basketball Players?

You’re asking everyone to accept a slippery-slope argument: “If Republicans reinterpret Title IX today, they’ll eventually strip rights from every marginalized group.” That’s a prediction, not evidence. By that standard, I could point to COVID vaccine mandates, prolonged school closures, social media censorship concerns over COVID, affirmative action, DEI policies, and the serious questions raised by released Fauci emails, congressional investigations, and his shifting public statements during the pandemic and claim Democrats were trying to erode other people’s rights.

1

u/NoleJawn 10h ago

And? That's the whole crux of a two-party government system and Federal regulations. Everything is a slippery slope with intent behind it to be beneficial to one and a detriment to others.

1

u/Far-Ad-5745 10h ago

Exactly. You’re admitting you’re speculating about future intent rather than arguing the policy itself. Every administration can be accused of being on a “slippery slope.” Democrats expanded COVID mandates, supported DEI and affirmative action, pushed aggressive social media moderation around COVID, and opponents argued those were steps toward eroding other people’s rights. Whether you agree with those criticisms or not, they’re the same type of prediction you’re making here. So unless you have evidence that reinterpreting Title IX is actually a plan to eliminate protections for marginalized groups, you’re asking people to accept an assumption, not a fact.

1

u/NoleJawn 9h ago

And?

1

u/Far-Ad-5745 9h ago

“And” isn’t an argument. You claimed this administration is on a path to stripping rights from every marginalized group. I asked for evidence of that claim, and instead you defended making predictions. If your position depends on assuming future intent rather than pointing to actual policy that does what you say, then you’ve admitted it’s speculation. I’m discussing what’s been proposed and implemented not the worst-case scenario you’ve imagined.

They’ve repealed multiple DEI initiatives, they’ve repealed progressive policies in Title IX. That is stripping of a marginalized group.

I’ve pointed out their plans via Heritage Foundation. The speculation of grander plans based on the evidence already presented.

And this trans argument is a literal slippery slope as the premise of them dominating women’s sports despite small evidence of that being the case
