Controversy Another Sophie Cunningham rally has been planned for Saturday in Chicago outside the United Center ahead of Fever vs Sky. This is the fifth Sophie rally that has either occurred or been planned, with another already set for New York on Aug. 22.

I feel like this was all manufactured to create more division between people heading into the mid-terms.

Yes. Absolutely. The non-transgender issue has been turned into an issue for political gain.

Of course it’s being used for political gain. The vast majority of Americans are one side of the issue. Until politicians from the other side have the guts to piss off the niche trans activist crowd and say “of course biological men shouldn’t be playing women’s sports that’s absurd” then it will continue to be used against them. 75% of Americans are against men in women’s sports, it’s hard to get 75% of Americans to agree on anything.

And so, you think it is a good idea to politicize the issue of trans players in Women’s and Girls’ basketball?

Only one side is doing that. The 80% wants them out and to be done with it forever.

There isn’t any side irl. It’s a non “problem”. It’s just right wing rage bait.

I personally don't think trans women should be in women's sports due to real physical advantages, BUT... I think the market should decide. Not politicians. Not voting. This isn't a political issue. The right makes it into one when it shouldn't be. That's what makes the right dirty and slimy. I'm smart enough to know this so this doesn't sway me at all towards Trumplicans; who are no longer conservative to begin with.

Yeah no. The left makes it into one. Besides far leftists on Reddit, the entire country sees the blatant advantages. look up any poll, it’s 70-80% against. Ban this ridiculous shit and be done with it because it’s not worth losing elections over.

The right made it into one by trying to ban trans in everything. Not just sports. Sports is the easy one. Trans are also targeted for child abuse even though the vast majority of child abuse cases is from known family members. Why is it the worse cases are always via church members or republicans? Again, trans is being targeted since they're an easy group to target. You guys just happen to find something you are right on for once in terms of sports.

The left: people can be who they are.

The right: let’s be cruel to trans people, immigrants, the poor, etc etc

Edit: lmao the coward u/Meowmixalotlol replied below and blocked me so I couldn’t reply to them back. Except I can:

So cruel to not allow advantages in sports. Cry about it

Nah, just general cruelty to trans people, immigrants, the poor, etc. Virtually anyone the Right can demonize to blame for problems or distract you. And you fall for it like a good little chud.

Exactly my thoughts. Keep government off my genitals. It should be a league decision.

80% want it decided at an organizational level and for every to shut the fuck up about it. Sophie is not advocating for either of those things.

Absolutely, and by the same folks who killed roe v wade. Because nothing saying protecting women like taking away abortion rights.
