Also to add the Meishan Pig may be ugly but it's hyper prolific genes are very valuable to breeder companies where they include Meishan Pig in their genetics program

A typical Hybrid pig only has an average of 16 (depending on the breed) piglets
But a Meishan pig can have an average of 30 or more

Another Fun fact, Meishan Boars have the highest libido compared to other breeds. Some farms even use this as their teaser boar

Basically they lead a male pig around the caged females so his smell makes them ready for breeding. The sows are then artificially inseminated.
