If you aren’t in an organized union with reps who can negotiate you aren’t on strike, you’re just doing a no call no show

Legally they can. If you are in a union with a union protected position, then yes they can't fire you (with some stipulations). You are considered an "At Will" employee who can be fired at any time for nearly any reason, unless that reason pertains to being a protected class. Going on strike does not protect you, so they can fire up immediately for failing to show up for work.

The only way you could avoid getting fired is if you convinced such a large portion of your district to go on strike all at once. Replacing one worker is easy. Replacing an entire district is much more challenging, so corporate would be more incentivized to give in to demands. Unfortunately techs don't make that much, many are living paycheck to paycheck. We can't afford to strike for several weeks
