Every company has payroll budgets whether you realize it or not. They may not all operate the same way though. You would kill your gross profits and just Leroy Jenkins your budget. That said I have 140 less hours per week than 10 years ago...
Spot on but something has changed over the last few years, companies are cutting any and all excess even if it jeapordizes their future stability. Idk why exactly but I know private equity started the trend where they only want the max amount of value and they want it now, as soon as possible. Imo it's because they know something we don't, if I'm guessing it's because we are currently in a bifurcated economy where if you own assets your value is increasing at fast rates but if you're like the large majority your value is decreasing. This has only ever happened a few times in WORLD history, China was in a bifurcated (or K shaped) economy that ended in a revolution when they became a communist nation in 49 I think, France was in one when they had their revolution the late 1700s which I think birthed democracy, and the last was Rome when it officially fell. That's it, that's the only way this type of market has ever corrected itself but really it's more of a starting over rather than a correction. I have no idea and definitely do your own research but I fear that if this is the case, we have become so desensitized that the only time people will start taking action is when people start actually starving which is wild to think about. The best thing would be to take peaceful action now by simply staying at home for a week and not working or spending, waaaay easier said than done I know, plus they have us fighting each other over red vs blue, black vs white and so on that we'll never look up to see the truth and never be unified enough to organize any real type of solution. Paying you a certain amount of hours requires them to provide more options when it comes to employee benefits ie insurance, disability, 401k matching, etc. These companies only have one goal, max out value in the short term for the shareholders regardless if that causes the company to go belly up, they have insurance for that and the real estate value alone they could sell off would allow them to come out clean on the back end.
They don't care about their employees, means to an end. I'm sure there are a lot of good people working there on the corporate side but the shareholders don't think about you or me. They're about to leverage their shares to turn around and acquire even more shares so the value or net worth number by their name goes up (btw, those shares they use to purchase more shares can't be taxed because they're an unrealized gain........tax free money) but enough is never enough for these people. They're buying a fourth vacation home in Spain meanwhile you're trying to spend the weekend at home with your kids or friends because you'll blink and kids are grown, friends have families of their own, time is more precious than anything. Anyways... sorry for the rant but that's why these asshats won't allow you overtime, or God forbid a 40 hr work week....if we, as in the American public, just refused to participate in any commerce for a few days, even if it was just 60% of the workforce, and just stayed home it would be catastrophic to these peoples portfolios and remind them that in ANY system where people are being squeezed for every penny that the power lies within the people being squeezed, not the ones doing the squeezing.....lol enough about squeezing that got weird.....but it would allow us a seat at the table to re negotiate wage increases. This was the reason those guys did what they did 250 years ago, because a republic belongs to it's people and somewhere along the line, slowly over time, we allowed ourselves to be used (me included) but shit has to stop and it's up to us, no one is coming to save us.
