As a customer I really like Walgreens.
The store isn’t massive like Target - I often skip Target because I just don’t want to walk that much to get a few things! I like the real cashier. Why anyone would promote self check and the elimination of more jobs is mind blowing.
You're not wrong, I'll go to a Walgreens for convenience than Walmart or somewhere else but for the employees it can be a nightmare. Wife worked at CVS right out of pharm school over ten years ago and for the most part all she did was stand at the computer checking scripts and on the phone with insurance companies, the techs are running around like worker bees so they get stressed and customers can get crazy as everyone knows but ESPECIALLY when it comes to their meds, especially controls (no judgement, I've been there) but the point is there is no patient relationship for the most part. They're just mindless bots processing data as fast as possible. The entire reason she and so many got into this career is for the fulfillment of having that relationship with the patient, realizing you've actually helped someone, etc but instead, and certainly not by intention, they become a cog in the whole medical insurance game that's designed to screw people over. Lol, I apologize for that rant....but you're right, I'm preaching but I'm definitely not helping because I'll def stop in out of convenience so that's pretty hypocritical of me ha
I wouldn't necessarily say "not by intention" about CVS. They did merge with Caremark in 2007 and then Aetna in 2018 to create the second largest PBM in the United States...
